Hello. Sorry to barge into this RP, you guys seem to be quite a distance in already. I sort of told Sketcher that I haven't been in a RP in a while and he sort of invited me to join. So with no excuses to not to, I sort of just made a CS. I hope it's good enough and I look forward to getting to know all of you. I'm just going to find a place to hide now.
Name: Terry Yates Gender: Female Age: 16 Nationality: Canadian Appearance: At first sight Terry looks like a scrawny boy. Her short chestnut colored hair goes a few millimeters below the tops of her ears and her bangs stop right above her eyes and are parted to the right in one swift wave. Her small, scrawny form lacks in the typical aspects associated with females. Her pale skin has a few old scars and bruises from a mishap. Her eyes are light blue, almost white. She often wears a white dress shirt with her uniform and a pair of goggles which hang around her neck when not in use. District: Stohess Personality: Friendly and cheerful, Terry is kind to even to the nastiest of people. She doesn’t do this out of joy but rather habit. Well that might not be totally true. The girl may not completely enjoy the conversation but she does like learning about people, and people open up when they trust you. Granted if she has to, she’ll turn to other sources to get information. Despite this odd hobby the girl doesn’t have any hidden agendas or personal goals, in fact it’s just about the opposite. The girl likes to take the safe neutral path of not harming anyone who doesn’t hurt her or those she cares about. This standpoint carries down to her own view of the world as well. She doesn’t believe in good or evil, right or wrong, or anything along those lines. She simply sees two sides with pros and cons. This tends to lead her to be indecisive and not much help in arguments unless the pros of one heavily outweigh the cons. Make no mistake though, Terry does have things she will fight for and borders she thinks no humans should cross. Backstory: Despite being born in the wealthy Stohess District, Terry wasn’t very rich at all. She was born to two servants of a wealthy noble who barely cared for his workers. Everything wasn’t terrible though. The girl’s parent’s cared for her deeply and the other servants were kind enough to take care of her as well. Growing up there wasn’t so bad, she didn’t have to do as much work as the adults and was allowed to go out and play when she was done with everything. Even as she grew older she was favored by the nobleman who employed her parents, who found her little hobby useful when negotiating with other nobles. What got to the girl was having to watch as her parents and the other employees work so hard with so little reward. Each day she would sit down in the servant’s quarter’s kitchen and watch as each of the staff members slinked inside utterly exhausted and joined in on eating the small portions provided by the greedy noble. Seeing such hard working people be treated so terribly slowly drove her over the edge, and so eventually just snapped. Terry was fourteen when she wrote three notes and moved on with her life. The first was a goodbye letter to her parents. The second was a threat to the noble, telling him that if he didn’t improve the conditions of the servants, his wife would find out about the little affair he’d been having. The third was a list of blackmail the stable boy could use against the nobleman for future reference. After that she simply packed up her bags and left before the nobleman could punish her for her actions. Once she left, the girl wasn’t quite sure what to do with her life. She wanted to do something; no one wants to die with nothing accomplished, but she didn’t know how to go about this. She didn’t have much money, and almost no useful training. So in the end she just wandered about doing some odd jobs here and there. She learned about all kinds of different people and found different viewpoints, of which all interested her. Eventually, as is destined for all travelers, she came across trouble. Being unable to afford a room for the night the girl had settled for sleeping in a nearby alley, something she’d gotten used to doing when she first arrived in a new place. During the night a group of teens had decided to make prey on her. They beat her up for their own twisted amusement and would’ve done worse had someone not intervened. Thankfully, someone had. A middle aged man had ran up waving a fireplace poker like a club and shouting incomprehensible things like a mad man, which was apparently enough to drive them away. After that he’d taken Terry home with him and offered her a place to stay for a while. The two had slowly grown close and after getting to know Terry and her goals, the man had suggested she join the training corps and make a name for herself in the legion. Figuring it’d be a better idea than wandering forever, Terry agreed with the veteran’s proposal. Other: Terry keeps a journal with the information she finds out about people. She writes it in a made up language so others can't read it and when people ask what she’s writing about she likes to say it’s a story about a lost world.
