-------------------------------------------------------- Just need to add the Bio, but working on that with Tundra. ^^
Name: Nomis 'Alexander' Clacverk Age: 47 Gender: Male Personality: With the kind, happy grin on his face, there are some who would consider Nomis to be nothing more than a friendly old man. For those who have just barely heard of him, they would believe the word that he is a kind man, one who has helped many of the more technologically advances of progress within the Empire itself, spreading throughout its various colonies and cities, especially that of Radiant Garden. Even within the ranks of the Empire itself, many believe him to be this kind of man, one who shies away from anything aggressive in nature. And they would be right. Anyone who would never have been present to see him fight would think as such, and in turn would not have seen the chaos that would have spread due to him. It’s almost as if he enjoys seeing this, the way people can quickly turn on one another in an instant, especially if nudged just slightly in the direction he wants. There are some who have said that there is almost a father like quality about Nomis, appearing as somewhat the father figure to more of the younger ranks of the Empire. No one knows for sure what Nomis is really like, as nearly everyone who knows of him could have their own unique take on the man. Whether kind, friendly and fatherly; or chaos loving and aggressively crazy, or perhaps even a combination of them all, whatever the case one thing is certain, there’s nothing like him. Appearance: Standing at a rather average height, around 5’7/8, Nomis is what one could consider an elegant gentleman to look like. His dark hair is kept to just above his shoulders, and though it is kept relatively neat, the hair still retains a somewhat thick and mane like look. His bright blue eyes can be seen through his oval shaped lens glasses, along with his very pale looking skin. Being that his face is the only part which shows his skin, it is taken into regard that the rest of his body is very much the same. With the rather sickly pale skin, his face seems to match it well, appearing to sink inwards around his cheeks and under his eyes, giving him the look of a man nearly on deaths door. One who seems very happy for it to come, judging by the large grin that is always present on his lips. The long dark brown trench coat appears much thicker than any ordinary kind used for simple wearing; making it more suitable to protect one from dangerous burns or sparks while working. Though the thickness seem to suggest this, the actual look of it, complete with various belts and deep pockets seem to fit more with a coat used for everyday use. The black thinly stripped trousers match well with the deep shade of red that the waistcoat is dyed with, even more so with the white shirt that can just be seen behind it, before it too is blocked by the delicately tied cravat, complete with the ruby etched pin upon it. The pair of polished black dress shoes would be the only choice to accompany the rest of the outfit, showing with the rest of the clothes that Nomis wears it all to look well dressed, and more so not for any sort of protection. Faction: The Empire Weapon: Funesta Arundo/Tainted Cane: While not necessarily a weapon in its normal form, Nomis wields an elegantly crafted cane, made out of a strange dark metal that seems to suck in light that falls upon it. The entire object is made from this metal, both the handle itself which appears in the shape of a perched bird and the long pole of the cane itself. The cane itself holds an immense weight within it, making it nearly impossible for others to hold let alone wield it besides Nomis, who uses it as if it was just an ordinarily weighted cane. The cane also reacts the same of all that are under the influence of Nomis’ power below, especially in its changing properties. Powers/Abilities: Taint Creation/Manipulation: Discovered from an early age, Nomis found this power during the same time of his accident. By physically touching a metal compound, he can fully absorb the “raw” substance in order to create what is known as Taint. This infected metal is under his full control and is able to reshape itself into all manner of different objects, most commonly in the form of tiny solid gears. Due to his affliction denying him the ability of any form of quick movements, Nomis uses his power greatly in both offensive and defensive. With said Tainted Gears, any and all raw metals can become lodged with them, allowing the gears to spread their taint and control over it for Nomis. So long as the gears remain embedded within the metal, his power over it remains until they are removed. Even then, the Taint can still remain for a short time afterwards, keeping somewhat of a timed link with it and Nomis. Metal under the influence of the Taint can be manipulated mentally by Nomis, whether in its original raw form or reshaped with other metals to form crude constructs. The rate in which he can absorb metal, is equal to the amount and size of the element. While steel bars may be broken down and remade into Taint in seconds, objects up to and including steel girders and frames may take anywhere from minutes to hours. Once absorbed, this ethereal Taint can be made into a much more physical substance. However just like the absorption process, causing the Taint to regain its matter changes with time. Taint which is immediately formed into existence takes on a much more breakable structure, finding itself shattering with ease when enough force is applied against it. With time however, the longer said physical Taint is given to meld into reality, the stronger it reinforces itself, to the point that it may be stronger than any normal tempered weapon, perhaps even more so. Taint appears to even be capable of spreading to those of living beings, augmenting their own strengths but losing their own motor functions in place of Nomis’ control. This has been shown to be possible, by the introduction of Taint through wounds such as cuts and stabs. It is theorized to spread to the iron within the body slowly, though as is the case with the metal, so long as there is no source of Taint constantly entering the body, it will eventually fade with time. Nomis’ connection with the Tainted metal used to be fixed over a certain distance, gradually growing weaker the farther and longer he stayed away before completely losing any and all will power with the manipulating objects. This however changed after a considerable accident fell upon him. After which he seemed to gain some kind of inhuman bonding with the strange dark metal, his will towards it in any way seeming to occur at a moment’s thought. Expert Counter: While never considered the quickest in his youth, both inside and out of battle, Nomis started to learn various sword and hand to hand movements in order to protect himself should the worse happen and his power and abilities are unable to keep his opponents at bay. These forms of self-defense proved very useful, allowing many cases for the young scientist to retreat and stall until help arrived. Nowadays however the thought of Nomis getting even a scratch seems like a ridiculous notion, it being seen that the man is able to parry and reflect any strike that has tried to cut him down, all with the use of his own cane. Though the same can be done with just as similarly sized swords, this normally never comes up, not with the strange Tainted metal which covers his hands like gloves, and perhaps even other parts of his body. Acting as his own personal hand guards, the metal packs quite a devastating punch, more so from a man his age. These skills aren’t normally used to deal a final strike on enemies, they are more used in order to force the opponent into retreat and back into him using his power. Extras: Machinations / Constructs Using his power in the creation of the gear like objects of Taint, Nomis is capable of construction complex machines and in some cases entire forms of life, all by willing the objects to work together like the parts of a body. The number and complexity of the gears determines in most all cases the size, strength, intelligence, etc of the construct, with larger numbers allowing a greater range of influence over their surroundings. The original or "Heart" gear of all constructs acts as the focal point of which all others swarm around. Composed of a slightly higher density than the rest, this "Gear Core" can be momentarily stopped if enough damage is dealt to the main form, its task always being to reassemble the core construct. If damaged severely and directly in the core, the loss of it is more than enough to render the rest of the gears, and in relation the construct itself, dead and harmless. Cruatires - Some of the more simpler constructs of Nomis. Needing only a few dozen gears per creature, the objects attract a wide range of metal from around its surroundings, in order to form these wolf like creatures. Though not difficult to damage the outward casing, the failure to eliminate even one of the Gear Cores can change a normally simple encounter into a big problem, fast. Faoladhs - Always the next step in the forms of the Cruatires. Created when there is an over-abundance of metal materials and gears but not enough Gear Cores to form Cruatires. In these cases, the remaining Gear Cores take on much more of the raw materials, their forms adding onto one another to create these werewolf styled creatures. The pack of Faoladhs are always smaller than the beginning Cruatires, but the machines easily make up their short numbers with their increased level of strength, resistance, and speed. Though they are much more ferocious than their younger brethren, the same principle of their demise remains, albeit not as easily as before. Crogalls - The final and rarest of the Cruatires evolution line. Just as the Faoladhs come into creation from an over-abundance of materials, so too do the Crogalls. However, such a massive amount is needed, that the creation of just one Crogall can take up the resources capable of easily filling many crates. The creature a Faoladh becomes is quite monstrous. As if a combination of a werewolf and a crocodile, the Crogall stomps around on four massive paws, its large torso concealing the small (compared to its size) arms which keep tightly packed against its metal ribs until needed. The beast's long tail can slam through a brick wall with ease, and if given a straight line can quickly reach speeds similar to that of a speeding car. Birugs - Similar to Cruatires, Birugs are created with the least amount of gears and Gear Core needed per pile of raw metal material. Unlike the simple minded approach of construction given to the Cruatires, Birugs are in all occasions formed directly by Nomis himself, and with only the purest raw materials. It is this reason Birugs are nearly always identical in appearance and substance, the floating eyes somehow causing themselves to repel each other and the ground in order to move freely through the air. This sort of repellent nature means they are easier to break than the Cruatires, due to their insides having more empty space to allow the gears to float and move, while the Cruatires and its evolved forms are more tightly packed. Though they are capable of altering their forms, this is only possible when otherwise designed by Nomis himself to begin with. Otherwise, each and every Birug is equipped with a single but powerful projectile launcher. Balors - Created only with a minimal of three intact* Gear Cores (*Though three are needed, so long as there is one solid and working core, the needed remaining two have only to be not severely damaged in order to qualify.) the gears resonant with the combined cores in order to pull in a colossal amount of materials from its immediate surroundings. In their wake the Cores form a massive sphere around themselves and their large swarm of gears, their new construct much too heavy to fly but still capable of repelling between itself and ground minutely. This allows the otherwise impossible to move machine the ability to not only force movement upon itself, but with less friction grants it an immense build up of speed and power. From a small collection of spherical eye slots along its top most rim, the Balors able to launch a devastating shot of energy, the source coming from the projectile launchers when in their Birug forms.
