A collab between Sketcher, Little Alice and CoyoteKisses
During the time everyone was rushing to the back of the line, Joseph decided to wait in bed a bit with a book in his hand. He would leave soon... Soon. After a few minutes, the boy went to the cafeteria, seeing a rather short line with almost everyone seated. As always, he walked into the "line", picked up his food and looked around for Jay until he noticed another familiar figure. He had met Noelle but they didn't really have a proper conversation. He walked over to the table she was sitting at. "Hi! Mind if I sit next to you?" Mika had been peacefully eating her dinner and was almost done until Noelle decided to sit next to her. Managing to whip up a friendly smile, Mika nodded. ''Hai! I indeed have missed you today.'' Mika friendly replied before she would give answer to the questions of the girl. ''I managed to make some, but am still a bit careful. Not knowing how a person is might be troublesome, not?'' She said back, wanting to already answering her second question. But then somebody asked if he was allowed to sit down. Raising her left hand to brush a lock of hair behind her hair, Mika couldn't help it. She thought to know him from before. Maybe during training or having a conversation with him before? ''Please, take a seat.'' Noelle nodded, ompletely agreeing with what Mika had said. After all, there was always a chance that that person would stab her back. Before she could voice her agreement, a boy's voice spoke up, asking if he could take a seat. Mika had done the talking for her, so Noelle just looked up from her bowl of stew to observe the newcomer. Ah, it was the boy that was with her during the first test. "Hey, Joseph," she cheerfully greeted. Joseph fixated his eyes on Mika for a split second before nodding with a smile and sitting down. He held out his hand to the girl. "I'm Joseph, by the way," he introduced himself with a friendly tone. He remembered the face from their first day at the cafeteria though they'd only exchanged a few words. "Nice to meet you." Reaching and shaking the reached out hand of Joseph. ''Pleasure to meet you as well. My name is Mika.'' After having introduced herself, Mika hadn't yet managed to remember why he looked so familiar. Deciding to give up on it, she threw a glance at Noelle. ''And how did you manage with the training?'' She asked, after which she continued with her stew. There was some temptation to glance at Joseph, trying to figure out again why he was so familiar. She glanced at Mika then back to Joseph, her instincts kicking in. Did the two know each other? Well, it seemed as though they didn't, and it really wasn't Noelle's business to pry. She took another sip of the stew before answering Mika's question. "Oh, it was fine. I spent most of training with my older brother so it was nice." She couldn't help but smirk a bit when she remembered how Jay had squealed like a wittle girl during their climbing training. "How about you guys?" she asked, including Joseph. "I think I got the hang of the 3DMG," he answered innocently, taking a sip from his bowl. "There's just this one guy... I can't get past him." Sighing, the boy leaned back in his seat. "Is Jay still going on about saving the world during the training?" he asked with a light chuckle. He found it ridiculous that Jay thought one person would make any difference. Though people like that are probably the ones most suitable for the Survey Corps anyway. Smiling to make it seem she was glad for the two, Mika cursed inwards. She was doing average and wished she was better with the 3DMG gear. Knowing she shouldn't give any bitter or sour look, Mika took another sip of her stew. It didn't interest her much that this Joseph couldn't pass a particular guy as she wasn't that competitive. It was however interesting to hear something about Jay. She had figured out that it was the brother of Noelle, but Mika couldn't remember that she had met him before. Taking another sip, she mocked herself mentally for doubting if she could even remember people she had met. "Hmm, sounds fun. I'm sure you can beat him someday." She assured, fiddling with her spoon. Honestly, there were so many people talented with combat in general. It sort of spurred Noelle on to do better, especially since she was stuck with a brother with big dreams. "Oh, he's fine," she said, amusement laced in her voice. "Yeah, he's still going on about that ridiculous idea of his. But...you know, it doesn't hurt to believe in a better future." She blinked a few times, almost surprised at her own words before taking another sip. She had always assumed she was a realist. Perhaps years of listening to the Jay had changed her. Sighing, Joseph took another sip. He looked back to take a look at the others, seeing Jay talking to Thomas. He turned ahead again, resting his head on his palm. "So, Mika," he started, dipping the spoon back into the half empty bowl. "Why'd you join the military?" Joseph let go of the tip of the spoon, letting slowly slide into the wooden crater of a bowl. Mika had listened actually with interest when Noelle had spoken. If she could learn more about the brother of hers, maybe she could gain somebody who would prove himself useful later? Or just perhaps somebody that wouldn't see her as a threat. That would be good too. Then Joseph asked a rather annoying question. Surprised, Mika blushed a bit as she then laughed. Hoping it sounded genuine, she would answer his question. ''To escape a life on the street. I have had enough of that. The promise of smelling how the air is outside the walls is what drove me to attempt to join the Survey Corps.'' After her answer, she was pretty content with it. Nobody would be able to see that as a lie, as it was the truth. Maybe with just some factors left out of it. ''And what about you two?''
