Wow you guys post a lot when im gone Blood: Despite the fact that my idea that they use blood for power, i dont like the idea that those who can use relics are determined by blood, or anything directly relating to thier birth. Im not against the relics seeming to have some sort of intelligence, as the idea of relics and evokers is that they have a close tie between each other. Perhaps something that determines an evoker should be much more subtle and hard to notice, because i dont like the idea of tieing too much canon to the relics. The Relics are a way to assist the plot, but they shouldn't be the whole plot.
I agree with the idea of relics finding someone out because they are "Special" if they're far and few between and by that I mean like ten relics. How many are there so far described? 30? More seen in passing? If they chose people because they were "Special" the original creators must of had a bitching of a time putting them to good use...
Well the old kingdom is implied to have not needed to be tied by or to one relic, and that relics were like tools to them. I prefer the idea that a relic molds to its user, a user it somehow decrees fits into certain variables that are required to wield it. Relics ARE the magic, not a channeling for it, as i've understood. That would bring up questions as to how evokers learn to use magic and ask why they could only learn what they did. Relics change into something that fits their user, and once the user and relic are sufficiently intertwined, the relics power is locked into place. GM: We all have 2 votes right now, so it is still a tie. Im fine with Co-Gm with ellri and Alida.
