To echo the above point, even if she did not have any protection before they were attacked, they [i]were[/i] attacked, and a lot of people died. It just doesn't seem logical to me that she would [i]still[/i] refuse to wear anything to protect herself. Especially if she normally has a bunch of Templars, and now she only has one. I did not envision my character as being particularly naive (considering that she has done a large amount of traveling in the past few years), as one can be a pacifist without also being stupid.

If it's that big of a problem, I'll get rid of it. If you're worried about my character being somehow invulnerable, I actually tend to go the opposite direction. I'm not really the type to have my character avoid all harm just because I feel like it.
