Conrad raised an eyebrow at the message. [i]Not much to go off of here.[/i] He turned off his mp3 player and stashed away his earbuds, yawning all the while- until a creeping sensation struck him. He looked down to see his shadow wavering, and then stretching and growing. Conrad took a deep breath and shouldered his backpack into a more comfortable position before moving to enter the castle. Out of the corner of his eyes, he thought he could see [i]things[/i] moving in the forest. Conrad shuddered and rushed inside, taking just a second to offer the notebook back to their host. Inside, Conrad gasped as his eyes took in the entrance. It was horrendous. Leering statues and bloody chains, wracks of knives... A faint, feminine chuckling in his head was the only thing that brought him back to his senses. [i]That was cruel.[/i] The thought only made her laugh turn from a chuckle to an open one. The creepiest part of it was how pleasant it would have been in a normal situation. Conrad back away to a wall and put his back to it, sliding down to sit. Then he pulled the sleeping mask down over his eyes. At least she couldn't interfere with his vision too much like this.
