As expected, it took a fair bit of time for Adam to make his way to the counters. Once there though, with tray in hand, he swept through the laid out food, taking a sizable portion of… well, everything. A fussy eater he was not, and there was a reason why his meal card was a great deal more expensive than the average student’s. With a loaded tray that could have probably fed half a dozen first years, since he swore they were getting smaller with every year, Adam took up the nearest seat available. He scoffed a bit when those already there edged away from him ever so slightly, but didn’t do anything else. Instead, he simply got to work on devouring the piles of food he had in front of him. He didn’t lack in manners or etiquette when it came to eating, but the dishes simply vanished in moments as if he inhaled them, leaving not even a scrap or morsel behind. It shouldn’t have been possible to look proper at the speed he ate, but somehow Veili managed to. With the food packed away in record speed as was usual for Veili, he covered up a small burp before he glanced around the cafeteria. Ah… it was always somewhat entertaining to see first years with their jaws dropped at that little display of his monstrous appetite. Leaving his seat, he placed the tray in its proper place before he glanced out a nearby window. There was still a bit of time before the opening ceremony started if he actually wanted to attend, but it didn’t really appeal to him. He respected Render, but the same speech with slight variations grew old after the second year. There was always the option of heading back to his room and lazing about there, but he dismissed it quickly. He was already out and about, no point in heading back and just cooping himself up since he did that so often already. In the end, as he stepped out of the dining hall, Veili decided to laze about near the ceremony. Close enough that he would be able to blend in with the students at a moment’s notice if necessary, but far enough that he could laze about on a tree while the others were forced to sit and listen. --- He recognized the student speaker that had been chosen to speak, Adam, but didn’t pay too much attention to the actual contents. Paying more attention to how comfortable the soft breeze and gentle sunlight that poked through the foliage were, the red-head smiled contentedly. Already drifting off, the familiar voice and words of Render were enough for Veili to completely nod off. Sleep claimed him at last and darkness was accompanied by the audience’s applause. His last thoughts before all things faded were that hopefully no one would be dumb enough to disturb his sleep.
