The cafeteria seemed to be teeming with students sitting scattered across the tables and the aroma of warm foods and drinks. The recognizable boy across from her appeared to be taking constant sips from some beverage, while occupied with tapping at a curious apparatus strapped to his wrist. Earth students seemed to own some of the most peculiar gadgets and gear. She could only imagine how utterly strange of a place the boy's home planet must be, filled with technology beyond her understanding. Varren's eyes looked more aware and more perky compared when she last saw him, the observation promptly confirmed when he looked up and greeted her with exuberance. ”Hey Lilith! What’d you think of the opening ceremony? I didn’t expect the headmaster to have such a character. I was expecting something more… laid back and formal.” "Hi there, Varren." She greeted him pleasantly, feeling rather thankful that there was somebody she had met already in the cafeteria. She languidly leaned a heavy head on her hand, feeling a little more comfortable with her surroundings now that she was with somebody she was at least a little familiar with. Her expression changed to one of slight irritation at the mention of the Headmaster. The rather loud, grating speech had certainly not been the most enjoyable thing to listen to... "And yes, I did too...I'm sure he nearly ruptured my eardr-" She closed her mouth before she finished her sentence, watching the boy stand up and bolt off somewhere. ”Be right back.” he said shortly before leaving. Before she could react, he landed back in his seat in an impressive speed. He held a cup in his hand not unlike the one he had been drinking from, and set it on the table in front of her. ”Erm, I added some cream and a pinch of sugar, just in case you aren’t used to the stuff. Wouldn’t want you to have a kidney failure by ingesting pure coffee, eh~?” "Oh-?" Confused for a moment, she blinked and looked down at the steaming, sepia colored liquid in the cup. The rich smell of fresh coffee wafted into her nose. Wait, it was for her? Surprised at the boy's kindness, she looked back up at him wide eyed. "Wh - no need to trouble yourself... but, thank you though." The consequence of being a nocturnal creature that only spent two days reversing its internal clock became apparent as she failed to stifle a yawn. As she opened her mouth to let out a wide yawn, she realized the coffee was something that was very needed. It was real nice of the boy to give what was practically a stranger some of that - she really could use a kick of energy boosting goodness. She picked up the cup, feeling the warmth tickle at her fingers behind her gloves. The last time she had said beverage was a number of years she could not estimate - when she was much younger and still attended a schoolhouse at daybreak somewhere back home in Lucius. In fact, she was ironically in a similar situation now. Except, several thousand wingbeats of a supersonic griffon away. Smiling to herself, she took a delicate sip, the coffee's taste being slightly bitter and sweet in a pleasant manner on her tongue. She put the cup down and took a moment to take in her surroundings, before glancing back at Varren. Although she had observed the students as they had landed at the Academy earlier, she couldn't quite tell who was new like her. Perhaps somebody else would know. "Um... do you know who any of the other first years are?"
