@Schradinger: To pose some questions about your ability: how does object allows him to access their immediate vicinity and become present with them. Like through a looking glass? A crystal ball? And what's the importance of direct contact with an object? Is it required for your character to become more attuned to the unique energy of that person? What's the decaying rate of the access to the energy signature (for lack of better terms, my brain is tired)? For instance, your character acquired a dress the person he wanted to scry used to wear all the time, but it has been several months since they last put it on.

What if the person hardly touched the object, but always focused on it, maybe it had a lot sentimental value, such as a music box or something kept in a trunk under the bed?
