Its nothing to worry about, and you don't need to know anything about it. A Lord of Ruin is just another name for a God in this setting. 
However, when people discuss it, I do believe they are referencing another role-play (actually just called Ruin). This role-play should not require knowledge of that one, however. There is no history between the two yet.

Thanks for raising the concern though. So guys, if you can, no more references to the other RP. May be alienating people. ;)
