I'd put him in casual. By his description, he writes 2-4 paragraphs, not 4+, but resents anything below 4 sentences. On average, 4 sentences equates to a solid paragraph. 3 paragraphs is roughly the standard for Casual.

Since I had a massive comment already to respond to Paladin only for it not to get posted her because site issues I'll sum it what I said in a couple sentences...Originality isn't always what's best. If the person doesn't know how to make the roleplay work or the roleplayers expect something different than it goes down the drain. Also the problem with original roleplays being LACK OF PRECEDENT. I tried an advanced rp before guild fall and it failed miserably partly because of my lack of experience as a gm at that point but mostly due to the fact that there was no map, no really deep lore behind it, and things were overly complicated. Likewise rp's revolving around super heroes I've noticed, like superman, batman, and the like have relatively short life spans while when I look at anime roleplays while most have likewise the same problem I know of at least one bleach roleplay that has done extremely well for itself. If I make a custom rp I can't point to something and say this person did this unless there's lore behind it and then if the person on the other side doesn't understand it then you out of luck as opposed to say mobile suit gundam where I can say, "Hey Char did this and that and Amuro did this and that and beat him by doing super move A." Also there's the fact that anime roleplays are easier to roleplay since the person who goes into it knows what to expect as opposed to say a mafia rp (which I went into detail on in the previous post but since you know I won't go into it again) where it should be about the crimes and gang fights and the loyalty of brothers and sisters in the mafia in other words the made men. It's not supposed to be drama heavy unless that's the intent. The reason I enjoyed Mafia 2's start is because it's a simple. You're doing these things because that's what made men do and or that's how a person reacts to that. If I made a Mafia roleplay I'd place it around the lower ranking guys and have them running around doin' their jobs and getting into fights then relax at a bar or have a time to take in what just happened. Rinse, repeat, have fun and don't take it to seriously unless that's what the scenario calls for. Not have some heavy intrigue based roleplay where its a game of thrones with gangsters.

The superhero role play I am a part of has been going on for at least three months. From my experience, superhero rps last longer if you allow creativity and have a thought out story and world for the role play. In fact I'd say original superhero rps are doing better than most of the ones that are based off of DC or marvel

I think Rare forgot a "not" in his post.

While I would really like to do a Marvel RP at some point, I would agree that original super hero rp's, to an extent, are doing better. The Create-A-Hero RP in the Advanced section has been running since the new RPG went up (i.e. 9 months). Someone in here *cough*Gowi*cough* even use to be part of it.

In retrospect, that would way far more sense. I was wondering why he would send him to the literal opposite place he should go.

Yeah. I have a massive case of Writer's Block too. Though oddly enough only to RPGs.

I seem to be getting through my personal writing block in general, but I’m still glaring at a blank screen in my word processor for three hours on some days. I love writing but sometimes writing does not love me.

Having a "Brief History" and "Background" section in your CS. They are the same thing. Just because you want one to be long and wordy doesn't mean it's not irrelevant.
(I said it'd be fluff and redundant, in more words, and I was told that's not how I should go about presenting my CS)

I'm sure this has already been said: Personality and Full History in a CS. These are pretty self-explanatory...maybe >.>
I'm sure this has also been said: "The CS proves your writing capabilities." It does not and it's just a formality to not have a Mary Sue or OP'd character and to make sure there is a general understanding of the plot and setting. I feel that's the only reason for a CS.

Maybe try writing with pen(cle) and paper? Maybe changing things up might help.

I'm not fond of tier lists.

I've also been rather irked at the behavior of some people I've seen on the RPG that makes me a sad panda.

It is a combat roleplay thing. They are used to classify characters by power, but I don't like how most are executed.

Ah, I've never dabbled in the Arena or more combat focused roleplays. XD I prefer rps with more focus on plot.

I agree. I haven't done more of the competitive combat for years, but the lists still are something I dislike when they get brought up.

I really don't like it when players get the idea that they can bend the rules of an rp to look cool and then screw everything up with their excuses and bitching.

Not insulting any one but this is a typical youth habbit of testing to see what one can get away with.
Now for mine,
1, people who spam memes. Done with taste, its funny and often appropriate but the second something turns in to a spider man thread, I'm out.

2, coffee creamers that advertise certain taste but its completely off. Pumpkin spice creamer from international delight done fucked that up.

I'm iffy about rules. For example, I was pushed through management where I work based on raw capability alone. My scores on formal tests and evaluations were the highest, including above the former GM (now fired) and veteran management. I now act as a Department Manager over the People, which is hiring, firing, resolving internal issues, training, scheduling, etc. Now, I'm also the youngest manager, been there the second shortest, have had my certification the shortest amount of time, etc. I set these precedents to explain that not so long ago, I was crew. I was the guy just being in and out to get the paycheck, work done, nothing else. It's only been a few months. Seeing both side in a work environment, you see your outlook change, but mine being so rushed, I see the stark contrast. Some rules are arbitrary. They're set up with an overall goal in mind, not a situational one. There are and will forever be scenarios when the rules don't apply or can be bend and have quality results without being oppressive. Understanding internal mechanics and structure is key. How does it work? Why does it exist? What purpose does it serve? What does it hope to achieve? What are its detriments? What are its advantages? In what situation is it a larger detriment than advantage and is it acceptable to set the precedent that anyone whom can evaluate its usefulness has the right to disregard it?

Those are a ton of questions I see answered differently not only from manager to manager, but from GM-to-GM and even branch administrators. They vary. There is no "correct perspective" because even at the highest link in the chains, variation exists. That said, the concept applies to roleplay, but roleplay is just as complex. How does a rule work? Why does it exist? What purpose does it servE? What does it hope to achieve? What are its detriments? What are its advantages? In what situations is it a larger detriment than advantage and is it acceptable to set the precedent that anyone whom can evaluate its usefulness has the right to disregard it? That will vary person to person, GM to GM, writer to writer and most importantly differ rule to rule. The issue arises when people begin bending rules for no productive reason. The people who want to go against the norm just to go against the norm. Even in high school, I hated the idea of nonconformity just to make a point. Go to war. See everyone ducking for cover? You bet your sweet ass you're going to conform. If not, you're either soon-to-die or about to score a medal of honor or purple heart, if not just some meager mention on some memorial. There are logical reasons for patterns, but that doesn't always make it the most logical course of action.

Edit: Fuck Pumpkin Spice Coffee creamer. Fuck Pumpkin Spice anything. White Chocolate or gtfo.
