oh, the vest, I suppose so, but then again, it's bullet resistant, not bullet proof, it'll provide slight protection from small arms fire which is to be expected in riots, like the supposed Riot Max was heading to =3 but anything bigger, like a 12 gauge shotgun will tear through it like a pillow =3
