Aya started when the mutant bounded into the trees, but paused when she heard his voice. It was a rumbling thing, stained with an animalistic growl and heavy with some accent she couldn't place, but it was as fragile as her own. Forcing her shaking legs to stay rooted in the ground, Aya opened her mouth again and, careful to make her voice at least a little stronger she said, "I'm Aya." This creature… this person, whoever he was, seemed as nervous as she was. Aya couldn't see him clearly in the shadow of the branches, but she already knew what he was hiding. Was he afraid of her seeing him? Or just afraid of her? "Uhm… are you ok?" she asked, still timid. "I uhm… I don't think I recognize you." This wasn't saying much since she could count the number of people she personally knew in the mansion on her two hands… including her professors. "Are you new?" Aya vaguely recalled some hubbub about professors looking for someone in the forest. She had a feeling this was him.
