Kade is a fair skinned girl. She has amethyst purple eyes which is really her most striking feature. Her raven black hair reaches just past her shoulders, she usually wears it in a simple pony tail. She has a few tattoos on her body, all of them are symmetrical and show balance, her most notable one is a Yin Yang symbol on the nape of her neck. Otherwise, she seems quite normal, relatively speaking. Kade has some scars on her body, she has one just above her Yin Yang tattoo, running horizontally a couple of inches across the back of her neck. She has another running along her left calf. The third scar is situated on her left shoulder which looks like a puncture wound rather than a cut, there is a matching scar on the other side of her shoulder. Running along the scar on her calf, is a tattoo of a thorny vine coiling around it, tipped off with a black and white rose. She usually keeps her fingernails short, and painted purple. Kade wears piercings along her left and right ears, they are symmetrical except that her right contains a clear white gemstone and the left contains an obsidian black stone. She also a piercing in her belly button, featuring another yin yang symbol. She has a small birthmark on the small of her back, it's pigment is close to that of the rest of her skin, but if one were to really look, they would spot it. She is a smaller girl, a little on the short side but definitely not a pushover. She has toned muscles thanks to her rock climbing, giving her an athletic form.

[b]Attire[/b]
Kade has two preferred types of clothing. One is loose fitting and doesn't really do much to show off her feminine features, they include baggy pants, hoodies and skate shoes. The appearance is quite tomboyish. The other preference is clothing best suited for hiking and travelling, shorts, tank tops and hiking shoes. Most of her clothes are black and white, but she has a couple purple articles here and there.

[b]Outward & Innate Personality[/b]
To others, Kade is an outgoing and welcoming person. She tries to always drag people along on her adventures which are not always the safe. She never likes being alone for too long, always wanting to surround herself around others. Kade is often trying to get into places she's not supposed to be, or leaving school grounds past curfew. Internally, Kade tries to maintain a balance in her lifestyle. She is a firm believer in karma, and doesn't like to test its limits. If she does something bad, she tries to reciprocate it with something good. If she does something good, she uses it as a sort of 'get out of jail free card' to do something not so good. She is sometimes playful a little too adventurous, and at other times, she is shy and nervous. Since she has a sort of good/bad pattern in her lifestyle, people who catch on can easily manipulate her. If they know she did a good deed, they can find themselves easily convincing her to break some rules. Since she prefers balance, Kade is not the type to take a side in a fight or argument.

[b]Hobbies/Interests[/b]
Kade enjoys playing the good old bar game, Pool. She has grown quite fond of 8-Ball. Other hobbies include exploring the Inverse, finding interesting little places that would otherwise be inaccessible. She doesn't do this often, however, for fear of ashing. Kade also enjoys rock climbing and if she isn't using her down time doing either of the two other things she enjoys, she can be found climbing something somewhere.

Kade is very good at her hobby of playing pool. She has built up a bit of a reputation. Kade's unruly acts of sneaking out when she shouldn't has made her quite good at sneaking. She is naturally light footed, making her quiet as she moves. Kade is just as sure footed as she is light footed thanks to rock climbing.

Kade adores her custom pool cue. It is a simple black and white cue stick with a yin yang symbol on the back of it.

[b]History/Bio[/b]
When Kade was ten years old, she discovered she had the unique power to shift between worlds. Her first discovery was when she had a nightmare and tried to escape. When she woke up, she immediately noticed something was wrong when the small fountain in the corner of her bedroom was flowing backward, up into the spout, out the drain and into the pool. She looked out her bedroom window and saw the trees in her backyard were all just roots sprouting from the ground and coiling around things. The pool was now just an elevated concrete platform out of the ground. The small mound in the corner of her backyard was a recession into the ground. Kade had entered a world known as the inverse, a direct opposite of the real world that she called the verse. Nobody was around, it was just her and the backward world. At least, she thought she was alone. In her neighbors backyard, she heard movement. Afraid of what it might be, but too curious to stay away, she investigated. When she saw her neighbor simply doing yard work, she called out to him.

Getting the old man's attention, he assured her there was nothing to be afraid about. He first explained what was happening, where they were and how she got there. The neighbor had made the connection that Kade had been subject to the Black Fall Effect, being the man's neighbor was probably close enough to receive the power. He explained that the inverse was no place for the unprepared, and shifted her back to the verse with him. She found herself standing in his backyard with him. Looking back into her backyard, the pool was in the ground, the mound was no longer a recess and the trees were standing high in the sky.

She thanked the neighbor for helping her get back and went back inside her home. She fell asleep and didn't suffer from any nightmare after that. The next day, on a weekend, she decided to visit with the neighbor. She wanted to learn more about the inverse and she knew the man had the answers she was looking for. Throughout the day, he told her the basics and the important stuff. That shifting and maintaining her presence in the inverse is a dangerous act. Every second spent in the inverse brings her closer to ashing quicker than anything he knew of. He told her that bringing people to the inverse accelerated that, so she needed to keep her business in the parallel world brief.

Kade began hiding behind the excuse that she was doing household chores for her neighbor. So that she could learn about the inverse and make the occasional excursion into the opposite world. She grew close to the neighbor, learning what she could from somebody who had had the power since he was very young. When her grades in school began to slip, her parents decided to see what was really happening. They stopped by and found that nobody was home. Immediately assuming the worst, they called the police. When the two of them returned from the inverse, it wasn't long before the police arrested the man for 'kidnapping' Kade. Weeks passed before his court date came around, but he never showed up. Kade had thought that maybe he shifted to the inverse and remained there where he would ash. But she never found out if that was true or not.

When Kade was thirteen, she decided to tell her parents the truth. That the neighbor in fact hadn't kidnapped her, that the he was teaching her about her power. She revealed it to them, bringing them to the inverse with her to prove his innocence. What followed was a sort of shame. Her parents thought she wasn't human, and seemed to have distanced themselves from her. A few weeks after revealing her secret, they announced that she was going to be sent to an academy for people like her. The day she left, her parents disowned her. It left Kade in shambles. She didn't know if it was because they thought she wasn't human for having the powers that she had or if they were just afraid of what Kade could do with them.

Kade arrived at Academy 218 as a quiet and depressed young girl. With no parents and no friends, she felt alone. Her first year at the academy was hard for her. People thought she was creepy for hardly talking and they had made up stories for why her parents had rejected Kade. It wasn't until one day she snapped and brought a bully with her to the inverse, telling him that she could outlive him in this world. She brought him back an hour later after the bully was begging for forgiveness. After that, Kade earned a sort of respect for taking on the bully and making him fear her. Her confidence had seen an improvement after she stood up for herself too. People decided that they didn't want to end up being left in the strange world Kade had access to, and decided to befriend her out of both fear and admiration.

By the time Kade was fifteen, she had established herself and was just like any other student. She was just good enough to make people like her and appreciate her help, but had teenage rebelliousness in her that made her fun to be around. She was a very balanced person inside and out. One thing her neighbor had taught her is that being balanced in body and mind slowed the inevitable ashing in the inverse. She countered her good deeds with not so good deeds and vice versa to keep herself on that fine line.

As Kade got older and more freedoms were granted, she started to find a liking for rock climbing. She knew that if she could climb well, she could reach places in the inverse that earned her access to other places in the verse. She practiced out in the woods when she had the chance, bringing her friends along so she wouldn't be alone if she got injured, which she did on a few occasions. Kade had her fair share of falls, but one was bad enough to hospitalize her for a couple of weeks. A thick and sturdy branch pierced through her shoulder, a jagged rock tore her leg open and another had just barely missed her spinal cord at the back of her neck. Thanks to the powers the doctors had, she was able to make a recovery without the cost of any limbs. But the scars remained, something the doctor said she should keep to remind her that she needed to be more careful.

Kade is eighteen now and she is constantly looking for people to come exploring the island with her. Sometimes, she will bring a friend to the inverse to show them some places in the verse that are hard to reach. Her adventurous spirit was never dented by her climbing accident, it was actually strengthened. Living off her previous mistakes, she carefully and skillfully explores the verse and the inverse.

Kade has the ability to shift between the material plane and an ethereal plane she calls the Inverse. Everything is the opposite in the Inverse. Light becomes dark and dark becomes light. Day time in the verse, reflects as night time in the inverse. Up is down, and down is up. Man made architecture isn't inverted, it remains the same as it is in the verse. Trees in the verse are flipped, showing the twisting and coiling roots coming from the ground instead. Water flows backwards, sometimes leading up instead of down. Waterfalls are all examples of up flowing water. The Inverse allows Kade to reach otherwise inaccessible places with relative ease, such as getting past the wall after curfew. She can bring others to the inverse with her if she is in physical contact with another, when she shifts back to the verse, anybody who traveled with her are brought back as well, no physical contact required. Being in the inverse taxes her body, she can experience ashing at an accelerated rate if she doesn't have the energy to maintain her presence in the inverse. Constantly switching between the two planes is also a very tiring ordeal if she switches more than two people. If she is too tired, she can't switch at all, trapping her in whichever plane she is in until she can regain her energy. People who are shifted to the inverse with Kade need to be careful, they too can also ash as a quicker rate, but not as much as Kade as she is the one holding their presence. The more people she shifts into the inverse, the quicker she can tire out.

[b]Weaknesses/Limitations/Drawbacks[/b]
(They are written above, but here are the weaknesses in point form.)
- Heavily taxing on Kade if she is shifting more than two people (herself included)
- Kade can become trapped in whichever plane she is in if she lacks the energy to shift.
- While within the inverse, Kade's energy will be sucked out of her. If too much is lost, she will slowly start to ash. The effects are minimized if she maintains a balance in her lifestyle, but it is ultimately inevitable.
- Kade is a bridge between the verse and the inverse. Anybody who travels to the inverse with her can experience the same effects of accelerated ashing, but not at the rate Kade can experience it at.
- The more people Kade brings with her into the inverse, the less amount of time they have to stay in it, as it becomes more taxing on Kade. If she gets too worn out, she can not shift back, which can potentially lead her to ash.
- Being injured can significantly shorten the time that is safe within the inverse.
- Shifting between the two worlds can be disorienting as the time of day is reversed and all the directions are swapped. Upon shifting, Kade loses her focus as her body adjusts, this effect can last anywhere to a couple of seconds to a couple of minutes depending on where she is and her condition when she shifts.
- While she can do it, Kade chooses not to shift when in or on a man made structure. The terrain flips but the structures don't, if she isn't careful, she can shift into an inverted rock or mound. If she needs to, she'll make sure the area around is clear of such possibilities before shifting.
