History: Thirty years ago, Galuf was one of the four Warriors of Dawn that sealed away the sorcerer Exdeath to contain his evil. After that he ruled the Kingdom of Bal, during which his granddaughter Krile was born, and his rule was fair, and peaceful. But things changed when he learned that the seals on Exdeath were weakening, and went to investigate via meteorite. 

But something went wrong and Galuf lost his memory, as well as having his equipment destroyed. He was found by Bartz and Lenna, and fired by the determination that remained, he follows them on their quest. At his prompting they go attempt to steal a pirate ship captained by Faris, but are caught. Eventually they make it to the wind shrine, to see the Crystal shatter, where Galuf is given the element of Earth and it's virtue of Hope, as well as being named a Warrior of Light.

They then went on a journey to save the other Crystals, Galuf's amnesia saving them from a siren. At Walse Tower, Galuf encounters a soldier from his world, but the man dies before he can learn anything of who he truly is. This repeats in Karnak, where a werewolf sacrifices himself before Galuf can learn anything. However, he gets some relief, remembering Krile and the fact that the fall of the Crystals will result in the return of Exdeath. 

In Ronka, Krile's arrival dispels the last of Galuf's amnesia, so he remembers who he is. At the same time though, Exdeath arrived to taunt him, and Galuf followed Exdeath back to his world. There, he prepared to lead an attack on Exdeath, only to be stopped by the revelation that Lenna, Bartz, and Faris had come back as well and been captured. Galuf then infiltrated Exdeath's castle, defeating Gilgamesh and rescuing the three. They flee, but are caught by a barrier and thrown to a far away place, where Galuf compliments Bartz for saving them from the barrier. 

After learning that Galuf is king of Bal, they go to save Krile's wind drake, meeting with his old comrades along the way, where they reminisce about the old days. Xezat sacrifices himself to bring down the shield generators around Castle Exdeath, and Galuf is deeply affected by this event. They eventually meet Sage Ghido, and move on.

Arriving at the Great Tree, the Warriors of Light are overcome by Exdeath, and trapped. Galuf, seeing Krile in danger, overcomes the crystal ensnaring him to save her, before attacking Exdeath, tanking -aga level spells, as well as Flare and Meteor and forcing Exdeath to flee with the proclamation that he doesn't fight with anger or hatred. Despite their best efforts, Galuf passes away. It is here, in the Spirit World, that he is contacted to be a Warrior of Cosmos, and he quickly accepts. [/hider]
