He positioned himself behind one of his traps, a tripwire hidden in the brush, when triggered it should release a sharpened branch at about knee level, notched another arrow and drew back his bow aiming to kill. A sliver of doubt slipped into his mind seconds before he released the arrow causing it to fly a few inches to the side of her head.
