They were on sale on XBL for $5 each, decided why not. I had played the demos for both back before they had come out, didn't really see much in them at the time. KoA feels like Fable over all with the sillyness toned down and the grim turned up, but still holds that kind of art style. A good game, but not one that can hold my interest long at the end of the day...much like Fable.

DA2, though.....Only a couple hours in, already love the game like a Bioware fanatic. It has it's flaws, but overall(so far) it's narrative is amazing. The gameplay is just more DA, not complaining. But Hawke....Mother fucking Hawke. No matter what dialogue I choose, I find him saying EXACTLY what I'm thinking or have already said word for word. His reactions, his choice of words, his overall attitude all basically match me. And then I met Fenris... If Hawke is how I am around other people, Fenris matches me when I dont care to wear 'the mask'. Perfectly.

Going to dive back into Kirkwall, need more.

I got the chance a year ago to actually talk to R.A Salvatore (the guy that made the story for Kamalur and the MMO that 38 Studios was going to release in the same universe) He let us see the basic like... uhm his plan for the lore cause he had it on him at the time.

It was the true testament to what that guy can do. Take a incredible cliche and make it slightly different enough to be good.

But man, there was like years worth of shit to explore.
To bad they took a shitty deal and tried to make an MMO.

I got Dragon Age 2 in the same sale. But only that.

I'm glad you like it. I plan on playing it when I'm done with Far Cry 3.

As far as Dragon Age goes, Origins is better as far as story goes. The gameplay was A LOT better in DA:2. Not a fan of DA:2 Anders. Awakening Anders is more fun.....

I'm just a little sad they didn't get to do more with Amalur...But that's what happens when you don't pay your bills!

DA:O definitely had the better lore, and had a more 'epic' feel to the story, while DA2 felt a bit more sandboxed. Despite that, DA2's game mechanics were much improved, and I loved Hawke (Male SarcastiHawke all the way!) and enjoyed all of the companions. While I preferred Anders in DA:A, he is a perfect blend of Justice (who was always a downer) and himself, so he made a lot of sense in DA2. Also, yeah, I'm quite certain everyone loves Gideon Emery's voice as Fenris. His voice as Balthier in FFXII was the only thing that got me through that game.

I am so stoked for Dragon Age Inquisition. I'm lining up my sick days from work for that game, haha. I already see myself rocking a party of Dorian, Sera, and Varric. Sarcastic and witty characters ftw!

I would have loved DA2 if not for the fact that it had you going over the same half dozen copy/ paste maps for the entire duration of the game. It was less "epic quest simulator" and more "You are the landlord who has to keep evicting shitty tenants from your property simulator".

That said, I enjoyed the story and the characters and I am excited for Inquisition.

I'll probably be running Cassandra and Verric non-stop.

See, Contra gets it. If you know you're going to piss everyone off eventually anyway, why not have fun with it?

To be fair, DA2 is a story being told by Verric. Logically, the reuse of details fits. Not a good excuse for them to do it, but still.

Contra pretty much summed up my feelings for both DA:O and DA2.

Stoked for Inquisition too!

My dick twitched at the prospect. That guy's one of my all-time favourite authors.
