Akito's eyes travel up slowly to the younger males face as he senses the uncertainty in the man. For a moment at least, the soldier can see beyond the prince and take in the man over the royal. With the same critical eyes that would once feel out his target he now examines Hiro while he's not looking trying to quantify what he sees without letting his own uncertainty cloud his vision. 'He is. . .A beautiful man. . .Who asked for this engagement as much as I did, which was not at all. He may have had more time to see it coming, if he knew of the tradition, however that has given him time to grow bitter over the arrangement. . .It doesn't happen every generation, seeing as there are not always wars, and even when there are, not all wars have heroes. . . .Though, I can not say I feel very heroic. . .' Glancing down for a moment he lets out a sigh, looking back up a moment later only to meet Hiro's gaze. Fighting his natural urge to drop his eyes down once more he give the prince an honest half smile. “Highness. . .I know you never asked for this, and neither did I. However, like it or not, we are stuck in this, and while for my fellows this gift of raising in the ranks to marry the most beautiful man I have ever seen is something they all envy me for, Right now I am simply lost in a world I don't understand.” As he speaks his hands slips behind his back, standing one more at attention because it is comfortable for him. He glances down for an instant, trying to steel his resolve to at least finish his thought without fleeing to his father's side. Gazing into the beautiful face he closes his eyes for a moment before opening them again. “I never planned for my future, and right now I am just trying to keep up with everyone else rushing me into it. You have been most kind in letting me take my time here and there, and I think you for that. You may have all the time in the world for your personal matters, and I swear I will do what I can to not interrupt the goals you have set for yourself.” He waves a hand, his smile becoming a little sheepish. “In short, I have no life, and what is being offered to me. . .No, what is being placed upon me, is over whelming.” His half smile returns even as his false calm begins cracking. 'I better finish before my voice begins sounding like a woman's' “I am a boring nobody, and I am sure you never imagined being forced on someone like me. You have things you like to do, and. . . .Instead of showing me around, how about. . .You let me see what you like? Then, maybe, I can stop acting like some sort of bumbling fool like I am now, since I am just not. . .” His voice finally gives up on him and he devolves into mutters, staring at his feet by the end.
