There is a bit of lore behind RoR that you may not be aware of. The UES Contact Light was transporting - among other artifact, a teleporter from this planet. As the ship was passing by, Providence sensed it and proceeded to wreak havoc forcing it to crash land thus reclaiming the teleporter for his world.
