Gideon was take slightly aback by the man's abrupt need to fore go the typical polite procedures to a conversation, but Gideon simply tacked it up as a lack of higher upbringing on the captain's part, "I am Gideon Alabaster, and I was wondering if you, and your ship, was in need of any extra hands." Gideon introduced himself, and hurried quickly to his question. It was obvious whatever the peculiar looking captain's intentions were, he had no time for any riff raff, which may be what Gideon appeared as, if not for his dulled golden breast plate, "I am willing to work for board, and food, as long as I'm allowed to get off wherever I need to." Gideon added, using a small smile in order to help the conversation to turn to a more friendly air, than a business-like one. Gideon still rested lazily on his stave, appearing as no more than a common dock worker, but Gideon hoped his outward appearance would not harm his chances at earning a job.
