Personality: Al is for the most part an upbeat and friendly person, he tries to be enthusiastic and energetic in everything he does and treat others politely. Despite being among the older students he isn't the most mature, often seen by others as child like and reckless, acting with little forethought and planning. While he doesn't always show his sensitive side, usually hiding it behind a boyish façade, Al is very protective and caring of his friends. 

History: Al was born and raised in the UK, he discovered his gift around his 7th birthday when he was taken abroad by his parents and able to read everything and understand everyone with ease. Combining his love of history with his gift the boy was absorbed into a world of discovery and knowledge, medieval and Latin texts, Celtic runes on old stones, the hieroglyphics of Egypt each furthered his academic prowess. Unfortunately his focus on language and history wasn't enough for the public school system and he ended up falling behind in things like geography and mathematics, he was hampered by the limitations of his gifts and for a little while it looked like everything was going wrong. That was when he was invited to join the academy.
