Hibiscus felt her hand being nudged. Then drew it back into her chest, as if it had been burned. She looked at the arm rest, studying it carefully. She brought her eyes closer, then drew them back, then close again as one did with a magic-eye puzzle. She slid her finger across the armrest, flat, like it had been before. She did not imagine the nudge. It's alive she realized, horrified. It likely had some semblance of a consciousness apart from Serenity. She wondered how much. The necromancer pondered. 'If it has a mind and a body to command by it's own power, its it technically more alive than mine own zombies?' the idea tickled her, and she chuckled to herself. She crossed her arms across her chest, not wanting to poke nor prod the living beast-machine she now rode within. She counted her bones in her head, waiting until they'd be allowed outside again.
