Everything froze. Even the darklings ceased to move as if sensing something shift. Lawrence was the first to howl in pained agony for his love. Then darklings made their own horrifying scream but did not surge forward. Lorelai, however, was silent. Her knees shook and she fell to ground, arms wrapped around her stomach. She made horrible retching sounds as a familiar black liquid puddled around her and dripped from her mouth. It bubbled and steamed like hot tar, burning and staining her already tattered gown. Her body trembled as she looked at her old friends. "How....could you...? She....loved you all." Her voice was not her own, was older. Ancient. With a gasp, Lorelai pitched forward, hurling more of the steaming darkness onto the ground. It twisted and writhed as she continued to vomit then she collapsed. It took on the vague shape of a woman. The woman spoke with the old voice. "Humans....such wretched creatures. Their emotions so feeble and flitting. They claim to love wholely and freely but it's nothing but a lie. They do nothing but hurt each other. Such ugly things don't deserve to live." She fixed each person with a glare. "I had hoped you all would give some sort of reason why I should not have each and every human destroyed but you all failed the test. However, to show how gracious I am, I will give you some time to come to terms with your imminent doom and leave in peace a while longer. Am I, Siret, not kind? As a gift and a reminder of your failure, I will also leave my child, should she wake, in your care. Do enjoy what you have left of your worthless lives." She gave a chilling smiled and a high pitched laugh as each darkling ran towards her, building her into a bulbous, black raven that raised it's wings and flew away. ((She won't be back for a while, gonna give things a while to calm down))
