His confidence is a product of it needing to be for his sister. He is actually incredibly worried about her and all the students in his old school. Without him there he fears the bullies will go back to their old ways. This leads to him being very distracted and missing sections of conversations if he starts to tune them out. He takes the safety of others very seriously he is not afraid to fight but only if he sees no other exits. He has a strong sense of duty he feels the need to make the people back home feel proud. He believes that it is his duty to pay back every penny of what they paid to get him to the school. Chaos is working on getting him to relax and this continues to stress Dusk out. Dusk's main struggle at the academy is not his talent or knowledge it is the fact that chaos is well chaotic. One minute Chaos is standing behind him the next Chaos has proceeded to write on the walls. Bio: Dusk was born a fraternal twin of his sister Katelyn. The two of them were born into a family that was already five members strong. So the two of them were put in the foster system. Around the time they turned five they had already been through twelve homes. Each home gave them back up for reasons that the pair didn't understand. They were hyper like kids were supposed to be and they each took these events differently Katelyn began to turn very shy almost hiding behind her brother. Dusk took to standing taller but adjusted to a calmer self. Eventually the twins found a home that was willing to keep them. They were housed by an older gentleman named Sarren. The man claimed there was a bond there that couldn't be explained in words. Sarren lived on a ridge looking over a small lake town with a population of less than two-hundred ten people. The twins were bullied in school for being the new kids. After a year in their new home Dusk came home with a broken nose. Sarren did not raise his voice he took care of everything without speaking. After he was done Sarren asked the very simple question of how it happened. When Dusk explained Sarren again didn't say a word to interrupt him, he just listened. Once Dusk was done Sarren asked another question, "What are you going to do about it?" They were simple words but they made sense and something about how he said them caused them to lodge themselves within Dusk's mind. Dusk wanted to fight back though he didn't know how. A week later a woman moved into the house from Thailand. She called herself Mao and didn't let anyone call her anything else. She began teaching Dusk to protect himself and others using the art of Kuntao Silat Pattani. When he turned 9 after two years of the training he confronted the bullies of the school. He wanted to make it clear that they were to stop. Most of the bullies did not listen but jokingly accepted. They discovered he wasn't joking when he told them they would stop. Mao had taught him through three of the styles which he ended up with her assistance combining into a singular style. He turned Snake, Dragon, and Tiger into the Chimera style. That was the end of the bullying in their school. It was also the beginning of his confidence. Mao ended up getting hired by the school as a physical education teacher. With her help Dusk started a martial arts club. In this club he met a couple of kids who were talking about Yugioh. He was curious about the game so he started talking to them. It wasn't long before they had taught him to play. Over the next year he constructed his deck mostly from incredibly cheap cards most called worthless. His sister actually gave him a dark magician and it became his ace card not because of its power but because of what it meant to him. He was very interested in the game but he wanted to go to the duel academy. The problem was that was money that they just couldn't afford. So he gave up on that or so he thought. His sister had gone all over town explaining what was going on and how he wanted to do this. Everyone in town pitched in and got the money together for him to go to the academy. He is no longer dueling for himself he was now carrying the weight of his hometown on his back. His scores put him in Ra Yellow. He was finishing the year at the local Jr. High before he transferred to the Academy. When he found an old pack of cards. He tore the pack open because it was from years ago and inside were a couple of cards like would be expected but there was also a card that he would have loved to use except it couldn't be used. A card that had been banned. It was a Dark Magician of Chaos card but that was the day he met his first duel spirit.
