Last winter, I was walking to the finance office of my school to make my final payment, immediately in front of me, a 20-something heavyset woman slipped on the ice and fell on her back. She started screaming and claimed she couldn't move, using my army medic powers I took charge, had an ambulance on the way, kept her warm, stabilized and calmed her. By the time EMS had arrived, I had her vital signs written down and was able to help load her into the truck.

My best friend was deployed in Afghanistan a few summers ago, while he was gone I hung out with his girlfriend (for 4 years) allot. About half way through his deployment he started having some serious thoughts about life and just kind of dumped her (she ended up turning completely insane, but that's another story). At the same time, another one of my friends was spending all his time with this girl named Katie who was cool at first until I found out she was just being a big tease and lost interest in him because he didn't have much money. The rest of this summer, this Katie chick would hit one anything that would buy her shit, making my friend feel like crap. When army buddy came back, he really wanted a fresh start with girls and all was looking good, I left for college shortly after. When I came back for break, lo-and-behold, him an Katie were dating (veteran benefits are nice). Over the months I attempted to tolerate her but she always came across as a bitch to me. After out big New-Years party, I was one of the last guys awake and me and katie were cleaning the house. I participated in small talk, but at this point Katie knew I didn't care for her. I was still washing dishes as she started heading into the bedroom for the night, as she walked away she said this to me: "Goodnight,... and by the way: I'm here to stay". I finished drying the plate I was cleaning, set it down, turned to her, and said: "That's what the last one said." and resumed dishes. God I felt so awesome.
