She will always do things her own way, and seeks her own path through life regardless of what hardships she must face along the way. Elena is participating in the Holy Grail War in order to prove herself to her father, and also in order to achieve her childish wish. [b]Biography & Family History[/b]: When Elena was born, everybody around her rejoiced at what she would become. Her father, who was late in his years, was relieved when his young wife delivered him the perfect child, one who could inherit everything he had worked to preserve and perfect in his lifetime. He passed on his Magic Crest, and began teaching his daughter the ways of the Magus from a very young age. Soon enough, she was truly geared to be the Lupei family's successor. Elena took great enjoyment from her early childhood, whether she was sitting on her grandfather's lap, or staying up late to read from her father's books. Just following the passing of her grandfather, her father began to take even more interest in his daughter's life, meaning that she was rarely allowed even a moment outside of her father's view. He loved her dearly, that was sure, but he also envied her for being born with more talent than him. Because of this, he was often harsh with her when she slacked on her studies, and couldn't abide by her doing anything he thought was outside of her duties. Soon enough, however, she began to develop somewhat of a rebellious streak, spurred on by her secretly budding friendship with one of the family maids. When her father found out about this relationship, Elena snapped and they got into their first ever argument. In the aftermath of this argument, Elena essentially kicked her father out of the house, leaving her to study magecraft on her own from then on. [hider=Lupei Family][i]The Lupei Family is not the most ancient of Magus Families, its members have generally not cared much for politics and when it comes to secret arts, theirs is hardly awe-inspiring. However, there is a bit of reputation surrounding their family, relating to the favoured occupation of its members. Since its founding, Magi of the Lupei Family have devoted their lives to two causes. The development and protection of the family's secret arts, and the hunting of vampires. For this purpose, each successor to the Family's will has become an Enforcer except for one, Elena's grandfather. Rather than a skill, this is a natural ability of hers that resists influence from external forces. [b]Presence Concealment[/b]: Allows for hiding one's presence from others, including the application of illusions and other trickery to prevent discovery through the use of the conventional five senses. Most of Elena's predecessors have been proficient with this kind of magecraft, and its blueprint is the most complete of all the spells in her Crest. [b]Boundary Field Creation[/b]: The creation of higher level Boundary Fields, Such as: One that turns away non-magus individuals, one that prevents long-ranged communication, one that provides protection against attacks and one that blocks out all external light. Also represents the caster's ability to create Boundary Fields on a higher level than others, including making their Boundaries very difficult to detect. [b]Reinforcement[/b]: Basic strengthening of objects, not quite on the level of reinforcing living things or one's own body. Still, Elena's natural talent allows her to use this magic consistently, even if it isn't to the highest level of mastery. [b]Wind Magecraft[/b]: Elena most commonly employs the Wind Element to enhance her movement and give herself an edge over less mobile opponents, allowing her to effectively make use of her Mystic Code to achieve victory. She possesses a rapid-movement technique which provides her or an object with linear acceleration, allowing them to make incredible jumps or boost away from dangerous attacks. This can be used to cancel out falls and land safely, although this requires quick thinking to be applied effectively. She can use both a radar-like technique that seeks out and identifies targets, and a technique to temporarily jam enemy's senses using a whirlwind of air and magical "noise". Contained in her family's crest are a handful of other Wind spells that could be situationally useful, such as one that fires a controllable arrow of wind, one that uses a swathe of air that slows movement and one that affects noise (either blocking it out or transmitting it in a different manner.) [b]Nostalgic Air[/b]: A little something of Elena's Grandfather's creation, which programs general purpose "Air" familiars able to complete complicated series of actions based on the user's instructions. The familiar itself is barely physical, able to move as if it were a gust of wind and infiltrate places that ordinary familiars would never be able to. This was formed from the basics of Seeking Air, one of their family's specialties, and is an exceptionally powerful magecraft on its own. By directly supplementing the familiar's body with additional magecraft, the caster can allow it to lift and manipulate objects, provide information on its surroundings despite not having eyes or ears, and even transmit the caster's voice, appearance or touch across long distances. However, because the familiar lacks much in the way of a physical body, its activities are easily disrupted by direct physical or magical attacks, causing it to disperse and become disabled. On the plus side, even when disrupted the familiar is still "alive", and can reform at the caster's command to resume duties when the danger has left. Magecraft can "kill" this familiar, but only those meant to harm it.[/hider] [b]Mystic Code & Equipment[/b]: [hider=Mystic Code][b]The Five Demon Hunting Stakes[/b]: Part of a set of seven stakes, designed for hunting and eliminating vampires. While Elena does not possess the entire set, and there are unlikely to be any vampires involved with the Holy Grail war, they still serve as effective weapons and their conceptual effect could possibly come in handy against strange abilities or opponents. Each of the Seven Stakes are Conceptual Weapons (or more accurately, the entire set of seven is a single weapon split into seven pieces), and the first five belonging to Elena all serve the same purpose. The Five that Elena possesses have the ability to apply the affect of "Grounding", which anchors a fragment of the enemy to the stake when it is activated. This anchored fragment remains grounded to the physical plane for as long as the stake is "active", which is until the stake is called back to the user or until there is no longer a fragment to be grounded. When grounded in this manner, abnormal escape techniques become impossible, and the stake itself becomes impossible to remove using conventional means. Because the stake shares a connection with the wielder and cannot be removed, the owner is always able to sense the stake's location as long as it is within a certain range, which is enough that Elena could sense it anywhere within the proximity of Fuyuki City, no matter where she was within or nearby. While this effect isn't exceptionally useful against ordinary individuals, the stakes can still be used as ordinary weapons in a pinch, and still prove extremely effective. Because they are weapons meant to strike superhuman vampires, they are quite difficult to avoid when used in conjunction with Elena's magecraft. Fuelled by her prana, they are able to move linearly at extreme speeds and change directions in an instant to strike opponents unexpectedly. They cannot, however, seek out opponents on their own, and require very precise manipulation in order to strike accurately. As fast as they are, they can be quite predictable in certain scenarios, and can only move in a limited number of bursts before they must return to her or sink into an opponent.[/hider] -Lupei's Silver Knife: A knife that serves as a simple amplifier for the user's power, and can also cut a bitch when necessary. -Grandfather's Watch: A simple charm in the form of a watch, containing a spell that reacts to a very specific kind of presence. Seemingly broken, but starts to tick when somebody of an Evil alignment is within 20 meters, with the speed of the ticking indicating proximity. [b]Non-Magecraft Related Skills[/b]: -Skilled Cooking & Cleaning: Skills learned from a friend of Elena's, who was a maid. The friend thought that learning these skills were above her, but Elena insisted. -Marksman: Although she can't use a gun or bow, Elena is quite accurate with thrown projectiles, and is able to usually guide her targets to their mark without much difficulty.
