OOC OR http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/71118/posts/ooc?page=1#post-2212618 --- So, I made an interest check for this before in GENERAL but I think that this RP should belong in tabletop, so let me explain how this RP will work: We start in 1985-88 and end in 2025-2030 through-out these years we develop videogames and our posts consist of game information of our imaginary games and what-not. Now NOTE this is more a FORUM GAME than an RP, but the roleplaying itself is a plethora of oppurtunities, a sandbox, you can RP in conferences, letters, as your CEO and workers, and what-not. Cosmetic stuff such as making tournaments for your games are also available, it'll add flavour. So, how this works is every real life day = 1 Quarter Year (3 monthes) which is also a season. Once 4 real life days have passed, it has been a year in the roleplay. It takes three days to develop, market, and release a videogame, meaning the first three days will be BORING. You can announce, market, and release whenever you wish and you MAY skip marketing but it will be bad for your sales calculations. So 2 days = less money but less time but 3 days = a bit more time, more money. The RP itself is complex but immensely fun to RP in. Let your imagination go wild to develop your own videogames in this RP and what-not. Don't worry, if there's enough posting, I will timeskip. Through-out the years we will research technologies such as better graphics, music peripherals, and eventually Virtual Reality. The good thing about this RP is after a certain amount of time, you're happy for the next era of consoles due to the fact that your developed games will look better in your heads. And of course, music/theme claiming as well as faceclaims are allowed, and of course basing your games off of others. You CAN reserve real life franchises but they can not be carbon copies, have the same name, and MUST have original content in it. The more original a game is the higher the review score is and the more money you get during sales, when reserving a game franchise you're basically reserving the right to use that form of gameplay and "theme" of the game, though you may change it however you wish, while not owning a franchise you can BASE the gameplay off of it, but don't go too far. Remember the more original a game is with plot and mechanics, and if it IS NOT based off of anything, expect for your game to get a 9-10 review, maybe even an 11. But originality/creativity isn't the only factor, there is also Plot, Mechanics, and Gameplay. At the end of every year I will do Game of the Year Awards and a score calculation based on your awards, money, and other factors. The person with the highest score "wins" and gets said bragging rights, and if people are interested we can start over and do another "session." I will be doing random events, trends, Game of the Year Awards (game with highest review, if tied it is debated by GMs) and even Greatest Hits which will give people a nice bonus. So, is anyone interested? I am in dire need of a Co-GM and this RP will start with 3-4 people. Again it IS Complex thus it is in tabletop but it is VERY fun.
