I'm not sure of the connection you're making. I'm say we should suspend our disbelief in the validity of the police situation in order to move on. I could be missing the point of your comment entirely but from my understanding of the phrase as well as explanations from several online sources and a living breathing intellectual source, that comment makes no sense. However it is in everyone's best interests to put up the white flag. You win, this isn't worth arguing over.
