Lighthearted, you say? Have I the man for you. I present, Silthryk the Great- master thief, highly acclaimed blacksmith (and jeweler), alchemist prodigy in training, beast trapper, monster slayer, genius, bard savant, lord of black market deals and street magician. (These are completely honest titles that others have given him, he did not make any of them up... promise.) Name: Silthryk N'andaalo, prefers to go by Sil Race: Half-elf Age: 35, though he looks no older than 18 Appearance: Sil is rather petite, standing at a mere five feet, two inches with a boyish face and youthful form. He favours practical clothing with bright, foppish flair in the form of various scarves and sashes. He has tattoos on his arms and torso reminiscent of his mother's homeland. (Please forgive the unfinished references.) Personality: Sil is headstrong and usually rather upbeat, tumbling through life in what seems to be a haphazard manner. While has a general care-free and “go with the flow” mentality, he works well under pressure, being able to think on his feet and improvise with ease. However, it’s hard for him to stay serious and focused for long, his mischievous nature and odd sense of humor being apt to shine through at any given moment. Skills/Abilities: Due to his elven heritage, he has slightly heightened senses and has excellent low-light vision. He is very agile and flexible, acrobatics playing a heavy role in his life as a vagabond and treasure/monster hunter. Despite being what some would call childish, he has a keen intellect that allows him to adjust to virtually any situation and make use of even the most mundane of items. He also has a knack for collecting and using powders and potions. Along with this, he has training in the use of dagger and short-sword, though his weapon of choice is a sling. Though it is hardly true, he also fancies himself an illusionist. Equipment: An assortment of vials, pouches and bottles filled with an array of useful (and not so useful) concoctions, both magical and non; twin short-swords of typical make; a curved, sabre-esque dagger and his trusty sling with a pouch of sling bullets, both stone and metal. He also has a collection of odds and ends- bits of metal, lengths of string and powdered clay, among other things. Aside from this, he has an old-fashioned haversack with a change of clothes, a water-resistant cloak and rustic bedroll. Brief Backstory: As evident from his dress and manner, Sil comes from a rather old-world corner of the globe that is relatively cut off from the coming of the modern age. There he was raised by his blacksmith human father and elven mage mother in general peace. He has always been curious, and a bit of a troublemaker with a thirst for adventure. When he was young he fantasized about becoming a great hero- slayer of monsters and courter of men and women. That dream fell apart rather quickly when he left home, the outside world taking his money and leaving him in the dust. With no one willing to hire a jokester half-breed, he turned to pick-pocketing to earn his way around the world. This lasted for a few years before he joined a band of men and women hunting down a nasty serpent- they were too desperate to refuse him, you see. When it came to the great battle, he did very little to help win the fight, and because of him that one guy did end up... nevermind. So! Not to be kept down for long, Sil tagged along with hunting parties and soaked up every trick and tactic he could before becoming a full-fledged monster hunter. He now travels wherever the wind takes him, delighting in new cultures and the challenges they present.
