But you can see [i]why[/i]. Also Lucas wrote the Episode 7 story so you can blame him. Really the problem was there was all this content and with the aging of the actors they would need to skip so much EU that it'd be impossible to keep up with what was going on with all the references to past events. So they started fresh. For future reference: The Tarkin book isn't EU... it is Canon :P

It's confusing and complicated to keep up but there it is.
