A new face, Team 2's newest member. ---------------- A collab writen by Shadowcatcher and Little Alice. --------------- Summary : The introduction of squad 2 newest genin. A small talk and meeting with the newest genin. Enjoy!
Sitting behind the desk, Kiyomi lightly tugged her lips down. She had placed her feet on the desk and was leaning back as she glanced once more over the profile. Moving her free hand to her brow, Kiyomi thought about the person that would soon appear in her office. Deciding that it would better, Kiyomi sighed and moved her legs, placing her feet at the ground. Next she opened a drawer and placed the profile that held the name of 'Ayuuki Misaki'. Though Kiyomi had read the profile and was thus quite updated on her newest genin, she couldn't to wonder about several things. A profile didn't always answered every question. She noticed it kind of just gave rise to only more questions. Today was finally the day Ayuuki had been waiting for for two long years. Or at least, she hoped it would be. Today was the day she would get to meet her new jounin-sensei she had been assigned to after graduating from the academy. As she walked at a normal pace towards the office she was instructed to meet at, she kept her excitement masked perfectly. No one would be able to tell by the cold shell on the outside, that she was beaming brightly on the inside. But afterall, she had to stay nonchalant. She was no longer a child, and things were finally starting to look up. Being one of the 'older' genin in the villiage, in order to maintain a bit of respect from the others, she had to look like she meant business. Though as she neared to meeting place, she became increasingly aware that it was getting harder to play the cool look. In a matter of a few minutes she had changed from being excited, to nervous, to downright terrified. Palms already sweaty as she reached the door of the office of her soon to be sensei, she knocked a few times upon it. Hearing the knocking on the door, Kiyomi looked up and responded. ''Come in.'' She would say as she leaned back. Moving her right hand to her chin and resting her left arm, Kiyomi had a curious look in her eyes as she would wait till the genin was fully inside the room. From the profile Kiyomi had learned that she was part of the Guardians, but with the recent growing of Academy students becoming part of the Guardians, if they were qualified to join. ''Please, take a seat.'' Upon entering the room, Ayuuki's eyes immediately landed on the red headed woman sitting behind the desk. Letting out a breath of relif that it was not some massive guy, she closed the door and walked to the seat opposite the woman. Removing her fan from her back and leaning it against the arm of the chair, she moved to take a seat as prompted. "My name's Ayuuki Misaki. Nice to meet you." she said just before sitting and crossing her left leg over the right. Though she thought it a bit weird to be staring at the woman, Ayuu allowed herself to this time. Not that she was sizing her up or anything... she knew it was the pretty one that were most dangerous. ''Pleasure to meet you, Ayuuki. Kiyomi Sato-Hon.'' Kiyomi replied as she lowered her right hand. She had noticed the staring of the other girl and wondered for a moment why she was doing that. Nothing in the profile had fortold Kiyomi that her newest student would do that and for that reason she always held a bit distrust with reading profiles. ''I hope you are doing fine today.'' Kiyomi politely said, deciding it would be best to start with some formalities. So that was the face that belonged to the name she had heard before. She couldn't remember off the top of her head who or where it had been mentioned, but she had heard it for sure. Finally lowering her gaze to the hands in her lap, she paused as the woman said she had hoped Ayuu had a good day. "My day has been fine, no different than any other except for getting to meet you... Can I ask why you decided to meet me here alone and not with the other... um, teammates?" Truth was that one on one in a room with someone was not a situation she liked being in. Not for any particular reason other than that she hated to be the center of attention. Kiyomi smiled as she slightly cocked her head to the right. ''One member is attending the Chuunin exams and another is busy with some training. I thought it would be better if we would speak alone together.'' Kiyomi paused as she noticed something. The chemical reaction in the brains of when somebody was getting nervous. The fact considering that it was just the two of them, she wouldn't need to guess who the source was. ''But don't worry. I won't give you any test or try you out. You can relax. This is just a talk between us and if you have any questions then I will answer them to my best.'' Hoping that her friendly and polite tone would ease her newest student a bit, Kiyomi briefly wondered how she would be with Tatsuya and Hayate. Ayuuki was eased just a little, and the sincerity in the woman's words was enough to allow her to relax just a bit. Easing back into the chair and crossing her arms, she gave a light smirk. "Normally i'm not much of a talker. I'm a kind of keep to myself, speak with my fists kind of girl so to speak. I don't mind this time just talking to you though. So, I'll also answer your questions for me the best I can." she said. Looking back up at the woman, she waited for her to say more. Technically Ayuu had already asked a question and it was Miss Kiyomi's turn. Glad that Ayuuki seemed to relax a bit and Kiyomi was glad that it happened. While Ayuuki provided an answer back, Kiyomi was wondering if Ayuuki wished for a spar or something. A person that rather spoke with fists? Kiyomi thought about it and decided it wouldn't any of them good if she would start to mock a line like that. ''I have little to none questions for you. I already read your profile and have some things about you from it.'' Kiyomi paused as she thought about any questions. But she couldn't come up with anything special or un-usual. ''But mind to tell me what you have as dream or future goals?'' Taking a moment to think about the question seriously, she wondered for a moment if there was even anything interesting in her profile that the woman had read. Though it was not likely. "I think for now my goals are simple ones, nothing to special. Just like I assume its every genin's wish to simply grow stronger. I'm not really an exception to that. Other than that...." she paused in thought. "My parents are to blame for this actually, but I'm hoping to adapt my style of fighting. My idea is to earn myself a few more summoning beasts and learn how to perfect fighting with them while also using my wind style ninjutsu. Aside from those i've seen who have beast companions, I've not seen or heard of anyone using summoning beasts as their main way of fighting. Is that already a thing? It would be nice if I ended up inventing a new fighting style or something." she said lightheartedly. Oddly enough just by talking about this kind of thing began to make Ayuuki excited and her eyes lit up a bit. The nervousness had finally subsided for the most part. A fighting style with summoning beasts and combining wind style ninjutsu? Thinking about it, she couldn't say that she had and fought against somebody who used such a particular kind of fighting style. ''I have seen and met a lot of interesting styles and combinations, but I can't really say that I have seen it before.'' Kiyomi stayed silent for a second as she lightly shrugged. ''I guess it isn't a thing, but I haven't been to some places where it might exist. Can't think of anybody in Konohagakure who uses more than two summonings for combat or other purposes.'' Noticing the tone of Ayuuki, Kiyomi decided to stay on the subject. It would better if they would have a good start than a bad one. ''And what kind of summonings were you thinking about, if I may ask?'' "Hmm, well I dont know much about summonings since I only have one at the moment, but there are different kinds with different abilities, right? I think ones that can compliment my wind style ninjutsu would be best for me." she paused as she shifted her position, lowering her left leg and crossing the right one on top this time. "For example, my summoning named Ryuuga is a snake. He has the ability to make a gas that does some serious damage to your eyes, though since he's not too strong, the effect fades after a while. The point is, I found that when I use the wind I create using my fan, not only can I spread the gas to cover more area, I can strike an long distance attack while my opponent is temporarily blinded." Absently her hand had moved to rest on the top of her closed fan that leaned against the arm of the chair. "All that said, my guess would be that a summoning that is more specialized in elemental attacks like fire or water type jutsu would suit me more than one that uses mainly taijutsu or is skilled in using wepons." As she finished speaking she let out a sigh as if she hadent taken a breath the entire time she had spoken. When had she ever said so much at one time before? This had to be some kind of record or something for her. Points go to her sensei for making her talk so much. Though Ayuuki had to admit it was refreshing in a weird kind of way. "Anything else you'd like to know?" she asked with a light smile. The way this was going, she expected to be asked about something silly like her hobbies. Smiling friendly, Kiyomi was glad that her student was more relaxed. At least for now. To think that everything would go from just one conversation was just naive. Something that Kiyomi despised. ''Not really.'' Kiyomi said in a friendly tone. There were some questions, but they would more or less be answered in the near future when the team would be sent on a mission again. At least, she had the idea for a small mission for Tatsuya and Ayuuki, but for now she was content. ''Now, I won't have any assignments for you, but I would like to have you be on standby. I will likely send you a message about where to meet for the first training or meeting.'' Kiyomi explained Ayuuki. ''Do you have any remaining questions?'' Ayuuki thought for a moment about any kind of questions she could ask, but was drawing a blank. Being social like this was not really one of her strong points, so in the end she just shook her head. "I cant think of any now, but when I do, I'll fire it your way." she paused to think another moment before asking, "Are we uh... done here?" She had to admit she was a bit dissapointed to be on standby, but she figured it wouldn't be for too long. She assumed there would always be some kind of work to do. ''Yes, we are for now.'' Kiyomi replied. She was quite satisfied how the talk had went. The new genin didn't had too many questions and didn't seem to have a problem with socializing. With what her profile stated about her abilities and skills, she could become a valuable asset for the squad and else Kiyomi could try to teach her a thing or two to help her out. It was interesting to note that she wanted to learn more about obtaining summonings. ''I wish you nice day and will contact you soon.'' Flashing a friendly smile, Kiyomi nodded towards Ayuuki. Nodding herself and then standing, Ayuuki picked up her fan and waved at the woman with her free hand. "It was nice meeting you. I hope ill fit in with the others on the team. ...Now that I think of it, I do have one question." she paused and ran a hand through her hair nervously. "Am i... the oldest one on the team?" she asked quietly. She silently prayed the woman would say no. She was really self conscious about her age, and being older was kind of a pain. Not that she was that much older than most genins, but she wished she wouldn't be teased about it for once. Just when Kiyomi was about to turn her attention to grab a book she wanted to read, she looked up. The question made Kiyomi frown a bit and then think about it. ''You're older than me, so yes. You're the oldest on the team. Why? Do you consider that as a problem?'' Though she asked it in a neutral tone, she had to admit that she was quite amused. Age hadn't really been much of a problem for her, but perhaps that was because she was never the oldest of a group. Ayuuki hesitated for a second and fought to hold back a sigh of defeat. So she would be the oldest. "Its not a problem... I mean, just because f it, its not like I wouldn't want to be a part of the team... its just." she paused and her shoulders sagged slightly. "I feel pressure sometimes because other students would always expect more of me since I was always older than them. The fact was I tended not to live up to their standards and it made me feel weak. I guess I just don't want that to happen anymore." Thinking about it, Kiyomi wasn't at first sure how to respond to that. She wished she could have somebody at her side who could help her. What would Zakito say? Probably chuckle and somehow manage to convince her that it wasn't a problem. But he was much better with words. What about Kensuke? He would laugh and probably joke about it. Not the option she wanted to go with. ''No need to do that. Right now, you're my pupil and it is my task to make sure that you don't need to be strong for others. Your priority right now is to make sure that you learn how to protect yourself. Once that is done, I am sure you will be capable of being strong for others.''Though the woman's answer was simple, it was enough to undo the bit of nervousness Ayuuki had felt about it. With another nod to her new sensei, she turned away and walked towards the door. Well now what should I do for the rest of the day...? the girl wondered as she quietly slipped out of the office.
