IMO, FTL is fine. It's just a touchy subject because you've got people who use FTL to advance a story, and those who use FTL to be super unbeatable power fantasies. It'd really work out if the different methods of FTL people use take into mind the other players. Are they having fun as well? Is this a story you wouldn't mind reading in a book? Is it unique to you, but with it's own pros and cons that balance out with the other player's FTL systems?

It really boils down to 'Don't be a shit with your FTL.'
