[hider=History of the universe] In the year 2577 humans had colonized 194 planets, however those living in the Sol system began to feel the need to organize these independent planets into galaxy spanning government. This group would become United Planetary Defense Collation and began to mass produce warships conquering Independent colony's and forcing them to join. This would spark retaliation from the remaining colonies Independent Federation of Systems building there one ships and training soldiers and combining there stands forces they held back the encroaching UP-DC force's. However the IFS knew it would need a new weapon if they wished to push back the UP-DC forces and and the war. A group of renown IFS scientists met and began to building a destructive new weapon, the Knight class battle-suit. Highly powerful and easy to adapt, these mass produced mechanized suits needed pilots. These pilots were originally pilots from fighters and land based tanks. these new weapons were difficult and hard to maneuver but they worked and more importantly they could fight in space and on the ground. UP-DC forces were quickly pushed back. That's when IFS began to invade worlds and "Liberate" them, by killing all garrisoned troops and slaughtering any who fought back. The same group of scientists decided to something radical, they gave the Knight's designs to the UP-DC causing letting them resume their stalemate. However knowing that they would be killed for what they did they took all the workers and scientists on the projects 3000 in total and stole a colony ship and everything they needed to start a new life in free space. When they arrived at a uncharted world they named it Tranquility and settled there. Most of the planet would become farming and agriculture however the capital city of Progress would be hope to three mech building labs and one pilot academy. Tranquility would not have a standing fleet or fighters only mechs to defend it. Now the pilot academy techs students starting at 14 and ends 18 where they become Defenders of Tranquility. However some ships were built mostly for exploration and for traveling between the two moons and the colonies on them. Now they 2654 there is a new breed of Mech in use on Tranquility the Paladin a new mech that the defenders are slowly transitioning into. However that same year Tranquility was attacked by a UP-DC battle group, however when they found that there mechs were dispatched easily and there fleet pushed back holding position outside the mechs operational limit. This stand-off would end with the arrival of a IFS assault group who assisted the Defenders in defeating the UP-DC battle group saving the planet. However IFS told them that they must join the Independent Systems or they would be left to fend for themselves against the full might of the UP-DC. As part of of joining the IFS all pilots in training have been transferred to Capital Military Academy, your new home. [/hider] Classes of Mech. [hider=Knight] The basic model of mech mass produced by both sides used by civilians and is commonly seen used by untrained pilots as there are the simplest mech to pilot and offer a large range of customization. However Knights are not as well armored as other classes of mech and cannot keep pace with others, the upshot is that it can use a full range of weapons and can be customized to your needs. All Paladins are roughly the same however they all have a full synchronization allowing the pilot to sync with the AI in the Mech and move as if they are one. This does mean however that the Paladin has no customization options and comes with energy shielding. It can use all varieties of weapons. This mech is only available to pilots from Tranquility. The Raider relies on speed not on endurance to get it through a fight, having one customization slot and access to light weaponry make's it perfect for hunting and killing enemy mechs. Raiders were the first mech to use melee weapons like energy blades. However due to the extreme speeds they can travel are fragile and easily wounded. Energy shielding (Light) Yes On-board AI, no full sync [/hider] [hider=Marauder] A heavy class of mech used for defending positions and assaulting base's these large war-machines can wield heavy weapons like nothing else and and carry two of even the largest rocket launchers. However they are not very fast but make up for that with heavy shielding and thick armor. When used in space the ride boards and use the magnetic locks on these boots to clamp on to things as they are too heavy for flight. Energy shielding (Heavy) One customization slot No On-board AI [/hider] [hider=Ironside] Built like a Knight, Ironsides have one major change, heavy armor and shielding, this updated Knight model often takes to the front and can survive many firefights it's weaker brother could not. However it has a lower speed but that is made up for with it being melee capable. Meaning that this Mech is versatile. While not the pretty it is effective and is renowned for it's tricky handling. Energy shielding (medium) Two customization slots No On-board AI [/hider] [hider=Templar] These Mechs are beautiful, however they carry the same stats as a Knight except for having a AI on board removing the customization aspect of them. Officially these are currently the Mechs produced by the Catholic church as a means of protection. Un-Officially they are used by IFS and UP-DC in missions that they wish deniability they can also full sync however the pilots complain of splitting headaches afterwards as IFS system for full syncing lacks behind Tranquility. This is about a group of students being trained to fight for IFS, some students will be from Tranquility however if you wish to be from another planet just ask and give me a basic description of the planet and it's history. Now we will have ground troops, mechanics, and pilots as well as instructors. Heads up if you are not from Tranquility most of you blame the continuation of the war on them for giving UP-DC forces mechs. All Mechs are customizable and I am willing to accept new mechs into the list. These are just the mass produced models I came up with. Also AI’s are attached to the mech so if you have one it assists you in many ways. All makes can be given their own paint job and backstory of how you got them if you like not a requirement. I am however using mech layouts to keep them all on a even playing field. However weapons are free choosable so please have fun creating those.
