This applies to all back-mounted 2-handed swords (and gun [i]in scabbards[/I] mounted on your back). Good place to stow them on the march or run since it keeps it from getting entangled with your legs and gives your arms a rest (which is pretty important since your arm-stamina equals bullets in an ye-olde-days swordfight). Terrible place to have it when you desperately need to get something sharp in front of you (hence the prevalence of daggers or 'sidearms', so kudus for having two, since I'm more of a fan of [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csMrmpNVnZ8]swords of the unwashed masses of Europe[/url]).
