Personality: A very stiff and unyielding young man with a strong sense of justice and want to do the right thing, though a bit lacking in sense. He believes in trusting people until given a reason not to trust them.
History: Born to a family of knights, Roland was raised from a young age to be a soldier, and told he carried the blood of the legendary king in his veins. He and his peers took little stock in his name or ancient family history, but the boy was commended for his excellent skill with the blade. At age 14, he was conscripted into the Scribe-Killers, a group of elite knights, trained in the use and interruption of scribe magic in service of the king. In spite of his training and knowledge on runes, he is unable to use scribe magic beyond that which is infused to his armor and sword, though he is highly adept at interrupting and redefining the runes used by other scribes.
