Julian opened his eyes and was greeted by a canopy of branches. Slowly sitting up, he took in his surroundings. There were dark, twisted trees all around him, but he couldn't remember how or when he got here. Where was here? "But I was just...running?" He looked down at his feet and clothes. He was still wearing his sneakers and shorts. "Yeah, that's right..I was jogging. And then..." But that was all Julian could remember. He was jogging down the street and then he was here. The same question came back to him again: where was here? "I passed out. I must have. Yeah, that's it. I must have hit my head or something." But the suburb he was jogging in wasn't anywhere near a forest... That didn't matter now. All he knew now was that he had to get out of this forest. Julian stood up and spun around slowly. The trees seemed to go on forever in every direction and the light from the sky was fading. The snapping of a twig to his right startled him back to the present. Julian glanced around in a slight panic until he spotted a small colorful patch of sky in the distance. Well, at least he was in his running gear, and he certainly didn't want to stick around and find out what made that noise. Julian took off at fast jog, making what would hopefully be his way out of the dark forest.
