That's not crazy, that's just a recurring dream that kind of haunts you. Same thing happened to me when I was about five, I've also had it happen along with sleep paralysis (only when I'm really sick, interestingly). Over time, the former went away, but for about a month or so I barely got any sleep at all. I feel like lucid dreaming would help a lot in breaking these cycles, if the same dream happens but you're aware of the situation, then you might be able to just change the dream into something else, or if you want to have some fun with it, fight back. Alternatively, you could write about it. Not like you did in the OP, I mean turn it into a story. I've found making a story about your problems is a great way of releasing stress over them, not sure if it'll work for you though.
