"Guess this does work like the games huh" Ajax grunted, lit cigarette between his lips, as he finished kicking apart the plants and gathering a few green gemstones. "If this is a dream, it's a crappy one, if it's real, that's even worse" he muttered to himself as he stomped his way to where Bee and that gunslinger were breaking pots for more money, hearing Jack talk about the dullness of the place and the method of currency. "Heh, thought you'd dig something like this. Nice, fat gemstones to carry around n all. As for dullness, well, there's a bunch of monsters n crap around but most can be handled by a little elf kid with an oversized knife so I dunno how exciting that'd be". "There's another thing, though..." he scratched his chin as he trailed off. "If you mess with chickens bad enough you get swarmed by a whole bunch of em, and the kid with the oversized knife can't hurt those at all", he explained for Jack's benefit before turning to Bee. "You know what I'm talking about I'm sure. Dunno 'bout you but I wanna see how much we can mess with the place before we leave. It's just a matter of doing it now or after we chill with some bowling". Jack felt good. His body felt lighter, tougher and sharper than it had ever been and he didn't fear no chicken, immortal or not. He felt as though he could do anything, fight anything or anyone. Not much of a difference to how he normally felt, honestly, but the scope was bigger now. Before, the largest threats around had been gangsters, not gang members or street toughs but legit mobsters, and he'd taken them on with nothing but his fists and came out standing proud. He'd gotten his shit kicked in a few times but he always made sure to pay that back with interests. Now it was crap like demons and dragons and, oddly enough, he also felt like he'd taken them on before. He also knew he was far more familiar with videogames and other nerdy stuff than he used to be, but he wasn't about to question either of those things. From what he could tell, they were going to come in handy.
