Name: Emiya Shirou Age: 18 Gender: Male Appearance: Have some images Canon, AU, or OC?: Canon (AU Variant 2) Universe of Origin: Nasuverse, Fate/Stay Night (Unlimited Blade Works Route) Personality: Due to being one of the only survivors of the great fire that took hundreds of peoples lives, Shirou has a great amount of survivors guilt, and a empty personality. He thinks that is unfair for himself to prioritize over the needs of others. He has a rather distorted sense of value, where he only finds satisfaction from assisting people without any compensation, thinking that helping people is its own reward. When it comes to protecting others with his life, he will do so without a second though, even if it can lead to his death. However, if someone has brought their own path to destruction, he will not intervene, and simply watch. He is extremely stubborn to his ideals of helping and protecting others, to the point of others mental anguish. No amount of words can convince him to stray from his path, though he slightly has done so through the teachings of his alternate self, Archer. As a person, Shirou enjoys Home Cooking, Blind Dates, and repairing electronics. His Japanese is good, but his english is rather poor. He is very independant due to the loss of his parents, and does most things for himself, including shopping, cleaning, and even working to pay his own fair share of the rent. He takes pride in his independence, and dislikes having others do things for him. Abilities/Weapons:Emiya Shirou, by himself, is only an average human teenager of 18 years old. Physically, this is his limit, and his speed, strength, and endurance is as said so, though slightly increased due to injuries sustained in his past. His skills in swordsmanship and combat skills are that on par of a basic swordsman. However, he is also a magus. This is where he differentiates from a normal boy. From a young age, he was taught as a spellcrafter by his adoptive father, Kiritsugu, although with much displeasure. He only knows two abilities justifiable as magecraft, Reinforcement and Tracing, both of which cost Prana. Prana is magical energy akin to Gasoline for mages. It cant exist by itself or do anything by itself, so it must be bound to a recipient. Basically, its the mana of the Fate world. There are two different types of Prana, each one has its own special uses of its own. Mana is the natural energy in nature. It is the energy that manifests itself in the world, and is the stronger of the two. However, it takes a long time for nature to recover such energy. Od is the prana found in living beings. It manifests over time through Magical Circuits, which are like a Psuedo-nervous system for a mage. They allow a person to convert life force into prana for use in abilities. For Shirou, his magical circuits and maximum limit are both rather low, so he cannot obtain as much Prana through this method as others. In laymans terms, Shirou, for instance, would have 30 Prana at the end of UBW route, and reinforcement would take 1, while Tracing would take 5, and his reality marble would take 20 to release, and 1 for every 30 seconds he is in it. He regains his prana at a rate of about 3 per day, although, if given prana by another being (Be it through either injection or sex), he can regain as much as needed by the other person. Reinforcement lets Shirou reinforce or increase the effectiveness of an object at the cost of his Prana. Anything he analyzes can be increased in effectiveness, including living beings, like eyes (To see further) or weapons (To make them stronger, or cut better.) Shirou is also able to understand and analyze objects before him, for instance, the entire layout of a broken microwave, allowing him to quickly repair parts of it. Shirou's other ability is Tracing. To put it in quotes, "If you can't defeat it, then imagine what can". Tracing, by nature, is the ability to create a complete copy of something, with the same properties as the original item. Shirou is able to reproduce Swords, Weapons, and Armor by nature, and can reproduce any sword he analyzes. These swords are completely identical to their counterparts, and have the same strength and durability as them, just slightly weaker. These abilities, however, are infact not due to his skill as a magus, rather, a special ability called a Reality Marble. The concept of a Reality Marble is simple-It is having one's inner world materialized and projected onto reality. Shirous Reality Marble is Infinite Blade Works. Due to being implanted with Avalon, the legendary sheath of Excalibur, Shirou's nature, and his elemental affinity, were changed to 'Sword'. This created the reality marble known as Infinite Blade Works. This world, inside of Shirou, is a barren wasteland of rubble and debris, filled with millions of swords in every direction. In this world, Shirou is free to create and manifest blades at a much faster rate, as well as having the blades be much stronger and retain their original histories- Which means, when Shirou uses them, he gains their original users skills with the blade. However, as in the real world, they are slightly weaker. Shirou can freely levitate the blades and use them in whatever way he wants. In addition, when using the full power of his reality marble, he and his opponent are sucked into this world, which is just that- Unlimited Blade Works. This land is stable and stays put together until the users Prana is completely depleted, and gives him all of the aforementioned abilities, as well as increasing the passive ability of Avalon ten fold, and without the need of Arturia. Lastly, his final, passive ability is the Regenerative factor of Avalon. Avalon is the sheath of Excalibur. Embeded into Shirou at a young age to save his life, it has the innate ability to regenerate his wounds faster. Although it is completely useless unless King Arthur/Arturia/etc Pendragon/Saber, is around. Due to the nature of Shirou's body and lack of training, he has a very low amount of Prana in his body. This severely limits his abilities, and makes it virtually all but impossible for him to use his Unlimited Blade Works ability without a very impressive amount of Prana help. Outside of his abilities as a basic swordfighter and his reinforcement, of course, Shirou is no stronger than an ordinary human, albeit with some regenerative powers. Of course, beyond this, Emiya Shirou is just a normal human male. He's susceptible to all forms of shock, mental control, and direct attacks as any weak, flimsy human- And excessive blood loss or pain will knock him out. Stab him in the heart and he's a dead man- Cut off his head, he's a dead man. He has no magical resistance of any kind, so he can easily be killed by this as well. Backstory: Ten years before the start of Fate/stay night, Shirou was an ordinary boy living with his parents in Shinto. A great fire nearly killed the boy, but he was saved by a man named Emiya Kiritsugu, who implanted Avalon into him and nurtured him for several years until he to eventually fell to death. Before he did, however, Shirou promised to uphold his adoptive fathers sense of heroics, planning on becoming the hero he always looked up to. In addition, over the years, he learned some magic from his adoptive father. There are several different 'endings' after this point, but for the sake of his abilities and plot, we will be using the Unlimited Blade Works route as our base. Shirou, at the age of 16, was unintentionally pulled in a war called the Holy Grail War, a war over a powerful artifact that could grant the user any wish they desired. The war, fought between seven magi who summon mystical heroes from history to fight one another (Called Servants), is fought usually every decade, but this time, it was only 10 years since the last war. Emiya was pulled in during a late night at school when he witnessed two servants, Archer and Lancer, fighting each other. The rule of the fights is for the servants not to be seen by bystanders, and if they were, they were to be killed. Shirou was nearly killed by Lancer, before being saved by a girl named Rin Tohsaka, the master of Archer. Returning home having only knowledge of being stabbed by lancer, he is greeted once again by the cool servant, ready to kill him once again. This time, Shirou is saved by Saber, a servant summoned by him unintentionally to protect him. From here is where the Unlimited Blade Works route takes off. Pushed into the war, Shirou vowed to fight to save everyone, and make sure nobody was hurt during the war, while still fighting for the grail himself (Though he had no idea what he would wish for). From here, he was cast into an adventure, where he fought with a future version of himself (Archer), lost his servant (Saber), and nearly died several times. By the end of it all, he found himself facing a dangerous challenger, one he would never imagine fighting- Gilgamesh, the King of Kings, a servant from the last holy grail war. The two fought an unbelievable battle, but through the usage of his Reality Marble, Shirou was able to defeat this foe once and for all. After this, he lived a 'peaceful' life with his friend, Rin Tohsaka. (Or just read the wiki page for him. Either or works. :v) Faction: UMMA
