The Doctor was looking at her. He noticed the Raven and then he soon heard Deaths voice. As expected there was always danger on Christmas. It did make the Doctor rather excited.
Being the kind of time lord he was, He just enjoyed the danger far too much. It was more exciting when something happened, normal Christmas's were overrated.
