*The landscape of this concrete jungle and all its holdings is, as expected, sought after by many vampire clans. Over the centuries, two have survived: **the Kingstons** and **the Blackmoores**. Two families with different ideologies, with contrasting attitudes towards humans and a colourful cast of fledgelings and followers, both ancient and brand new.* 

*All that matters now in the sea of passive-aggression is the question of who throws the first metaphorical punch – or who breaks the timeless rules of the city before the other.*

Hello and welcome to 'Cold-Blooded', a vampire RP set in modern times in good old New York City! This is a revival-rehash-continuation-of the previous thread, found [here](http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/69361/posts/ic), due to the GM's inactivity.

Vampires in this RP are weakened by sunlight, live in families or clans – the Kingstons or the Blackmoores – and feed on blood to survive. Opinions on mere mortals differ from vampire to vampire, and the general outlook of each family is outlined below so you can make your choice as to which to join. Each family has a head, head members, and then humans that were turned into vampires. Furthermore they are weak when presented with fire and wood and, while a stake to the chest won't kill them, it'll drain their powers. Death only occurs for a vampire through decapitation.

In this world of vampires, there is some pretty bog-standard lore to work with. Vampires are weakened, but not turned to dust by sunlight; they live in clans/families/covens (one of two, in this RP); and finally they must feed on human blood to survive, though animal blood can do in a pinch. Each family has a head, outlined somewhere below, and a set of guidelines to follow. 

As for the RP's OOC rules, they're straight-forward and likely to be those you find anywhere else. No godmoding, speed-posting or Mary Sues, and aim for civility. Have as much fun as possible, and feel free to ask either Kidd or I about any problems.

**KINGSTON**

- Ruled by Mira Kingston.

- **Does not allow** drinking directly from humans. Has freezers full of blood-bags on hand.

- Altering humans' memories is **strongly frowned upon**. Prevent it by controlling yourselves!

- Ancient vampires easily available, Klaus and Praetor.

- Very liberal, moral, and pro-human!

**BLACKMOORE**

- Ruled by Alistair Blackmoore.

- **Allows** drinking from humans in the city and even promotes it over other forms of sustenance.

- **Does not allow** leaving the victim's memories intact and the typical **suggestion is to kill** the mortal involved.

- Prioritises the safety of vampire-kind from discovery by humans above all else.

- If you value a traditional, ambitious family, this is the one for you!
