Name: Jacob Demorri Age: 17 Gender: Male Appearance: Around 6' 1', while Jacob certainly isn't very strong his frame suggests it, being fairly broad shouldered and built like a rugby player but lacking any real muscle. This is partially hidden by his choice in baggier clothing; a red hoodie, black sweatpants, both of which are tattered and faded from living on the streets. His face gives it away a bit though, his skin having a light olive tone to it but being fairly pale and looking malnourished as he doesn't eat or get out much. Due to lack of sleep Jacob's brown eyes have quite obvious dark circles underneath them, his lightly framed glasses doing little to hide this for him. His black hair covers most of his forehead, and it's thick enough to constantly retain some shape. Like most guys his age Jacob has developed a subtle layer of darkish peachfuzz on his chin and down the sides of his face. Side: Neutral. Personality: Jacob suffers from schizophrenia, making him more or less uneasy most of the time and somewhat distrusting. While he tends to try and avoid others human interaction is one of his favorite things, making him a little overly trusting towards anyone who shows him kindness (unless he has a reason not to like them). Jacob generally has a good sense of morality, though it can become very skewed since his thoughts aren't entirely his own. Biography: From the age of ten, Jacob had been diagnosed with clinical schizophrenia and from that point on his life wasn't entirely his own. It began as no more than nightmares, but as he grew older it evolved into voices and these voices in a way leaked imagination into reality. About four years ago Jacob's conduit gene finally revealed itself, a nightmare of his erupting into reality and slaughtering his family in the dead of night before coming for him. Running through the apartment complex screaming, it didn't take long for the police to show up and from there things got out of control. It only took a mater of weeks before Jacob was pulled out of the local foster care program and taken to Curdon Cay, the DUP having put together the case and acting swiftly. There, for five years, Jacob was under lock and key with special care being taken towards helping his condition as it was believed to be why his power even existed. Upping the Ritalin prescription helped but not much progress was made due to the lack of resources to put into helping him, and upon the shut down of Curdon Cay he was released with all the hustle and lost despite the DUP having meant to keep him under their care. Homeless now, Jacob had begun to live on the streets, completely unsure what to do with himself and his life. Ritalin running low, he's began to spread out his doses more making his mind become a little less his own again. Power: Jacob has the ability to push nightmares or voices out of his head and manifest them in the physical plain, appearing as an oily looking shadow that will quickly absorb material objects around it to gain presence and give it a sort of shell. Power-: The constructs that occur have three major classes, but their forms are very pliable and can often fit anywhere on the spectrum. Available materials also effect their forms, broken glass for example becoming claws as the shadows themselves can't touch anyone. Grunt- A minor voice or bad passing thought manifesting as a small creature with long arms (though they can take other shapes). Occasionally some retain the ability to speak, though their language is crude and hard to understand. Revenant- Often coming from a smarter and louder voice, revenants retain a fair amount of intelligence and personality, many times coming back but in a different shape. Often the most humanoid in both size and form, but have many times appeared in distorted and monstrous shapes. Nightmare- Only the darkest and most troubling thoughts become Nightmares; monsters or beasts that act quite viciously and are hard to control. While all shadows have minds of their own they can be reasoned with or to an extent commanded but not Nightmares. Both dangerous and unpredictable, even trying to kill Jacob himself. Other: Jacob isn't in true control of anything he creates just as he can't shut up the voices in his head but they will listen to him if the situation permits. Ritalin suppresses Nightmares from taking form, as well as restricting Revenants, but otherwise mostly serves to help his mental stability. EDIT: one last thing. He needs glasses to see well but doesn't need need them.
