Harold went on another of his minor rants and the like, hoping that he didn't cause this girl to dislike him already, or become disgusted with his nerdism.

He also handed the notebook back to its proper owner, and heard the yelling of another female a short ways away. It would appear that the boy who assisted this beautiful example of the female species is what many call a "Playboy". (I fail to understand how it is possible to wish for more than one Lover. The fact that men like that are unsatified with the fact that they have a woman is deplorable.)
