As Liaison, your job will be to interact with the Mage Guild, Day and Night Master and Captain of Guard. Your real role would become more evident when I reveal confidential information and the story progresses. However if you want to play as Mage Liasion, you can do that as well because my Mage has gone missing... :( 

As Mage you'll have a lot more action and participate more actively in the cities defense. As Cultivator, you'll adopt a more plotting and passive role.
