Mithias sighed inwardly, but did not move. Wouldn't it be just his luck to have timed his arrival to when Miss Kingston would be out of the  house? No matter. He had already enough evidence that her invitation had been innocent and had decided to show himself. The presence of another of her guests was none of his concern, insofaras they remained peaceful toward him. 

"I will wait." His smooth voice gracefully ended the awkward silence.
