I should have assumed the school had a band pfft, maybe I was just thinking that Northwood had a choir and an orchestra only. 

But yeah, I'm assuming it would be a gathering for music-oriented kids to hang out and perhaps set up some fun things to do, and there would obviously be times when they would preform at an open mic or something as a band that incorporates singing and instruments.
