Headed by accomplished playboy explorer, Dr. Waltham Gems, Team Rhinestone is currently one of the most famous teams in the colonies and at home. From discovering the Southern Sea Temple to putting some of the most dangerous criminals behind bars, they are only a few steps down the long road of success, a road that looks like it will never end. They are held in high regard by the Federation, who have sent them across the Colonies to expand the frontier and entrusted them with several missions that are rarely made public. This close relationship with the Federation may not be as rosy as it's made out to be, however...

Gala the Tirtouga has over 30 years of deep-sea exploration under his belt, a large bank account and the respect of many high-ranking Explorers. Yet, his bitter attitude, stubborn refusal to evolve and his alleged involvement in the handling of bribes has held him back from receiving a (in his mind, a well deserved) seat on the Exploration Federation Council. Instead, he works in a dead-end job as a Regional Officer for the Colony of Glacefloe, which sees him policing the entire tundra. Unfortunately, nothing [i]ever[/i] happens in Glacefloe due to the isolation of the small village and the complex treaties signed with the Ice Natives in the tundras.

Recently, after many months of persuasion and investigation, he gained funding from the Federation Council to launch a full-scale expedition into the vast, Glacefloe tundra with several high-ranking teams at the helm (including Team Rhinestone). This expedition is the last chance for the disgraced, veteran explorer to redeem himself to the Federation and he won't allow anyone get in the way of his plans...
