Name: Julius Mars Hillshire Nickname(s): 'Little Lion of Hillshire' Gender: Male Age: 12 House: Pick this one out for me, my good GM's~! Appearance: (I'll add a picture some time this week) Black spiky hair and black eyes. Slightly tanned due to being outside most of the time. Wears a customized glove for dueling and archery (Thumbs, index and middle finger are covered, the other fingers are not) on his right hand at all times except when not needed. Has calluses on his knuckles and palms and is a bit muscular for his age. Short, around 4'8 in height. Wand: Redwood, 14 inches / Dragon heartstring core. Pet: a Pug named Rocky. Strengths: Thinking outside of the box! Physical fitness! Surprisingly smart! Unpredictability! Quick reflexes mark him as a prodigy at dueling, complemented by his grasp at Transfiguration; his ability to concentrate at a particular task is also note worthy. He has a large bit of magical power that make his spells more powerful than usual (a regular jinx from him can be a real pain to remove) and a lot of stamina for a wizard. He has an excellent sense of intuition and his guesses are fairly accurate. Weaknesses: Lazy! Confrontational! Surprisingly dense! Unpredictability! He's terrible at things that require small attention to detail; this makes him terrible at Charms, Potions, Herbology, Numerology, History, Arithmancy and Divination. He likes to rely on his intuition for most things and though he is smart, because he rarely reads, he is quite unintelligent in most matters. Personality: Head strong and passionate, he likes to take all problems head on and without skirting around the issue. He is a bit dense and is not good at reading the atmosphere. Sadly, if he doesn't feel like doing something, he is equally passionate about not doing it - making his study habits a bit less than desirable. He is friendly to almost everybody and is loyal to those friends. The one thing he dislikes the most is when people betray those friendships for stupid reasons ('stupid' is subjective here) and will either try and fix those friendships or pick a fight with the offender . . . or both. He's optimistic and enjoys a good laugh, and is generally cheerful. History: Julius is a half-blood; muggle father, witch mother. The story of their meeting is an exciting and dramatic one, and one he has heard often. His father is a British SAS and his mother is a medical witch, both at one point were at Iraq for their own reasons. During a particularly heavy conflict, Julius mother found herself injured and without a wand and surrounded by Jihadists - basically, a witch's worst nightmare. In the nick of time, his father arrived on the way to regroup with his squad. Upon seeing her in trouble and realizing she was neither a native nor a terrorist, he fought tooth and nail to get her out of the area. By the end of it all, he was greatly injured, but at least he managed to rescue her. Death was coming for him, he realized, and he was about to accept the end until he felt his wounds mending - Julius's mother had found her wand at the last moment. She didn't bother to erase his memories (she owed that to him) and he didn't bother telling anyone about her (he owed that to her) and the two met outside of combat. She promptly explained her status as a witch, to which all the man did was respond with a taciturn 'I see'. The two saw each other more often from then on and were married three years since their first meeting. Julius was born with his fathers good intuition and body and his mothers passionate heart and intellect. He also inherited his paternal grandfathers energy and rowdiness. He grew up knowing about magic and while his father didn't mind him becoming a wizard, he also constantly reminded him to keep up with modern technology and to keep his body fit - two major flaws that his father had discovered existed among the wizarding population. NPCs: Alexander Pierre Hillshire - father, British SAS with experience in all four troops (Boat, Mobility, Air, Mountain) ten years of combat service and holds the rank of captain. He is half-Filipino, although a born British native. His own father was a Scout Ranger, the Philippines equivalent of the SAS, while his grandfather on his mothers side was an SAS officer as well. You could say he was born to be in the military. [sub]Others: Ever since he discovered the existence of the magical community, as well as the actions of Voldemort, he has been thinking of countermeasures and ways to combat them, should they once again become an international threat. Much to his wife's surprise, he has succeeded in finding no less than 101 ways to kill a single wizard casting a Protego charm. He has more such plans for many contingencies, but has not told anyone but his wife.[/sub] Guinevere Vesta A. Hillshire - mother, an experienced medical witch who is somewhat of a bleeding heart. Silent and meek, but passionate and determined, she values life above all and does her best to preserve what she can. Her mother died during the Second War with Voldemort, and her father went missing and is presumed dead as well. Graduated from Hogwarts and once taught at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, before heading off for more dangerous parts of the world to give first-aid in secret. [sub]Others: Has a pet Therstral and Pheonix. Is afraid of riding cars and airplanes.[/sub]
