Derek listened intently to what she said. He would agree to keep calling her Krista, but he still wanted to know her real name out of curiosity. He wouldn't pry it out of her. He didn't like that she had to remember her past because of his arrogance. But right when she had told him about the sunlight, he knew it was no mere coincidence. He balled up his fist and punched the wooden table he sat on. "Son of a bitch!" he exclaimed, jumping off the table. He shrugged off his jacket, feeling heat of his body entrap the faux fur on the inside. He placed it around Jennifer's shoulders. "After school, I need you to trust me more than anything. I know that I promised to leave you alone, but there is nothing you can do to stay safe. This man is dangerous. He is not like the average serial killer and I can't explain it to you because he probably knows you are here right now. He is probably watching you right now. He probably watched you for weeks, if not months, before he proved to you that he knew where you were. There is almost no sunlight in this area during winter. This is the perfect hunting ground," he said, straightening the jacket on her shoulders. He took in a deep breath. He knew that she understood the severity of her predicament, but not the severity of a vampire.
