It was a simple enough matter to move in front of the woman's kick, using his power to make it seem like she hit a solid object instead of just the air around him. He reached out a hand when she turned away, placing it on the woman's shoulder and exerting his power to try and keep her in place. 

"Excuse me ma'am," He said, his voice deadpan and polite. "Today is a special day for us, and I would prefer it if you didn't try and kill my guildmates." He smiled disarmingly, but the smile no longer reached his eyes. "Why don't we talk for a while and settle this like civilized people?" He let go of her and released his power, both freeing her and dropping the strange mage he had forgotten about.
